vista media is the vista CD. restart your computer and press delete... or f!" or whatever it tells you to get into bios settings or boot menu.

find the boot menu and set the CD/DVD item to the top (or above the HDD atleast)

then save and put the Vista cd in. and restart your computer. it will ask you to press a button to boot from cd... press a button and then follow the tutorial you linked.

not a vista boffin but did you make boot disks when you got the laptop? or did it come with a boot disk cos thats the only thing i can think of. you would loose everything though so its a last alternative type thing

is your vista came with your laptop or do you install it yourself?
If it comes with the laptop, you wont have the vista dvd cos a vista compie is usually equipped with a recovery partition. You need to create your own recovery dvds if you want them.

Anyway, try reboot your computer and press F8 right away, it should give "Repair Your Computer Option" whihc is exactly what the vista dvd would give. Select that and you'll see the vista repair menus including restore to factory setting, fix boot problems or restore to an earlier point of time.

good luck
