This may sound stupid but i was just browsing the net i was on a website looking at laptops(forgot what website now) but as soon as i closed down the window to the top right of my screen a pea sized grey blemish appeared with 10 to 11 lines coming out of it (looks like a spider) which in total is the size of a golf ball. Looks as if someone has shot my screen with a pelit gun.

The screen has not been touched for this to appear, all of a sudden restarted the laptop and for the first time ever since ive owned the laptop the post screen took approx 2 to 3 minutes to load. Infact the whole load up to windows desktop took 4 to 5 or so minutes when it normally all takes around 1 minute.

Is this just a coincedence ro am i bein abit silly thinking the 'damaged screen' is some sort of virus or something?

Does the mark you've mentioned appear when the machine is booting Windows and in the bios or is it just within Windows? If it's only in Windows then it's likely a software fault of some kind however if it's always there then it's a hardware fault with the screen and unlikely to be related to the slow performance you've mentioned unless something else has come loose inside the machine.

Yes the damage screen is there as soon as i turn the laptop on. Its strange SURELY it can only get damaged like this if it had some sort of impact on it? Im convinced a screen cant just go like this out of the blu??? Just strange also now my laptop is going EXTREMELY slow now too. I'll take a pic of the damage tomorrow and post it up.

connect your lap top to another monitor via the vga cable and see what happens its is still the same its a software thing and you will have to reinstall your os and recover your data

if theres no problem its your screen that will need replacing unfortunalty

second thoughts its might not be the screen but the ribbon cable that sends data to your screen might be on its way out or broken (usually it its being open and closed a lot) you might get similar problems with mintendo ds' and slide phones so it might be a £10 fix hopefully not a new scren at ££££'s fix

Ive figured the problem now.

The slow problem has now been solved.

The screen issue was due to the way i move or close the lid/screen, Seems over the years ive put so mch pressure on it that its just gone bust.

Seen one on ebay for around £60 so may aswel replace it even tho the damage is hardly noticable, i mean i can see everything clearly on the screen itself. Its wierd kind of damage never seen anything like it before on a laptop screen,

well i know its not the point of a laptop but you can always just use a secondary external monitor if you need to use your laptop untill you get a new screen hope it works out for you
