My sons main xmas pressie this year is going to be a laptop.
He plays online games. The free ones, and ones like Club Penquin & Adventure Quest etc so the laptop will need to be ok playing those.
Not an expensive one though as he tends to drop things! So dont want to pay for a good one. One that will be satisfactory for his needs would suffice.

Any suggestions please? Im not too good on specs of laptops etc.
ive got a HP Compaq 6710b and it means nothing to me! loll

My suggestion is don't start looking for a computer more than a month before you are going to need it. 4 and a half months (till xmas) is a looooong time in computers. For example 4GB of ram is good now but 6GB or 8GB could be standard come christmas.

yeah you could be right. I will have to resist the urge to buy one for a few months longer! hahaha

Lol, I dont think 6 or 8 GB will be the norm when the OP wants a cheaper laptop!

You will still be lucky to get 4 I think on the basic ones.

It is true though, dont buy one until the time is right.

Think about where to buy it from. . Stores like Currys/Pc World/Comet/Argos wont let you return the items after certain times for refunds, Tesco is a great place to buy a laptop, but you need to go in there in the couple of weeks up to christmas, because they will have different offers on. Aim to spend about £350-400 for a nice machine, those prices I would also recommend something that has an intel processor, and make sure it has the new Windows 7!

Good luck.
