just bought a new lenovo laptop and within 2 days I had a error message saying something on the lines of hardware been changed reboot to save changes, so after reboot nothing changed so rang shop they said sounds like a software issue so not our problem ring lenovo under their warranty rang them and they talked me through a system restore, this screwed the laptop to a state can't switch on.
so just a warning don't ring manufacturers to try fix laptop I'm now without it for a further 10 days min and have a uni assignment due in 14 days

lol well I doubt I could write a assignment on a mobile.
study open university so no university lol.
lenovo were ones who **** it when apparently all it needed was to change the driver for graphics.
and they won't replace just fix

get back to the shop, they've fobbed you off too easily without even looking at it,
let me know if you want my Gran to pop along with you, she'll tear the place right up :D

If you cannot get any satisfactory resolution through contacting the retailer for assistance try speaking to the manufacturer or check their forum. Lenovo should be able to explain how to Hard re-set the Laptop, but without the model number it's difficult to provide further advice or assistance. Otherwise Google Hard re-set and model number and hopefully a possible solution to resolving the power-on issue will be available. (It's a combination of taking out the AC adaptor, battery and holding down the Power button for x seconds). Let's hope this resolves it..........

Honestly, invest your money into a Macbook, they last much longer than standard laptops.

I bought a used Macbook Pro (2013 model) a little over a year ago and have never ran into a problem, if it was a standard Windows laptop I can guarantee it would've developed a problem within the first 3 months and started to run sluggish.

Shocking advice.

My last ASUS laptop lasted me the best part of 8 years. Never a problem.

I made the same jump in 2013, after multiple Dell XPS machines.

Never had an issue with my Mac so far, cost the same as my XPS also.

MacBook Pro early 2015. Replacement screen (known delamination issue), replacement keyboard/trackpad (non responsive trackpad) a few days ago free with AppleCare. I do like the OS for my needs, but screen and keyboard replacement within 14 months is not particularly impressive, although on both occasions replacement carried out same day.

How can you guarantee that? I've had my Dell Inspiron Windows PC for 2 years and it hasn't missed a beat.

I can see you've already tried turning it on and off. Unfortunately I can't be of any further help.

Never in my life have I had a problem with any laptop I have ever bought until at least a few years in, and even then a quick reboot or re-install usually fixed it. All ran windows.

''if it was a standard Windows laptop I can guarantee it would've developed a problem within the first 3 months and started to run sluggish.''

I can't take the above bit seriously at all. Sounds like an apple fanboy. Infact, he must be.

You'd be surprised what you can write on a mobile with a keyboard plugged in (or a bluetooth keyboard).

Should have demanded the retailer sort it, not Levono. The retailer can deal with Levono on your behalf if it's required. Just for future reference.

Only if you treat it like crap. Macbooks are slow to begin with, so wouldn't notice :3

lol I would however it was bought from a shop through eBay so nowhere near where I live
#17
yea they got me to do this on support however this just made things worse, they (manufacture) thinks that it's a corrupt copy of windows so have arranged a pick up oO

yea they said they could help however I'd have to pay for postage to get it there then either refund or fix, they said need at least 3-5 days to fix and as it was bought on eBay they said refund would take a minimum of 10 days it's just annoying, my old laptop take a age to do anything which is surprising cus it's a i7 but only 4gb ram and standard graphics so God knows at least I got something to write on although I got nothing on it cause originally was gonna use the pc world trade in thing but changed mind, wish I never now

If you got it from eBay then all you need to do is open a case. They will wither fix or replace and will also pay for postage.

see when I asked this they went on like it was going to be a process that going to take weeks so I getting lenovo to pick up instead I cba with hassle, the seller seemed a bit of a yea lol, plus eBay have been taking pee recently I called them at 5:30 they said we will phone back in 30m still waiting (already called 3 times)

Tbh getting the manufacture to pick up would be quicker than the eBay process but if it can't be fixed or you still have problems when returned it will be the best option. Is it a reputable shop on eBay what is feedback like you might even have a stolen copy of windows on the laptop and the manufacturer will be reluctant to do something with it. I have a feeling this is not the simple ending you may want. But good luck

its a shop in Oldham that lists on eBay, they have their own website pc assist, yea they on about charges etc if it looks like human error but I can't afford these problems I only bought a new laptop cus mine was about 4-6 years old and getting really sluggish and it seemed a good deal, probably and will be better deals but it was still good compared to others I was looking at
