stay clear from netbooks- too slow, too small to see

for the same price get a proper laptop with better crystal clear screen and much faster

I agree. You`ll need glasses with squinting on a netbook.

Netbooks are superb these days ....I have 3 ...just depends on the OP's requirements ......and a Netbook is usually half the price of a normal laptop. :)

If you're looking to spend around £400 and you want something lightweight then a 13.3" is probably your best bet. These are (sort of) Macbook clones but at less than half the price and, almost certainly, less than half as good!

This one looks fairly good value at £420 with Windows 7 although for an extra £60 you can get a dual core processor version. You might be able to save a bit if you have access to a cheaper source of Windows 7 either as a student or through some employers as you can buy these without an OS. And you can get 3% Quidco.

The other key item is what can you realistically afford to spend on one?

Cheers, Scotty Boy!
