Hi all,

I'm heading to Las Vegas on Sunday for a week. Anyone got any good recommendations?

I'm 22 / going with a couple of lad mates / got a bit of money to spend.

Any help would be gratefully received

Cheers

If you ignore the Fallout New Vegas that comes up in the search - there are quite a few threads here about Vegas

Have fun (am going in June!)

Look in the brochures in your room as they have a 24 hour buffet voucher that you can use in 9 hotels! It was around $35 pp last year and if you time it right you can get 4meals inc soft drinks with it although champagne inc at weekends! Ceasars Palace and Planet Hollywood were my faves for all meals but depends what you like and it really is eat as much as you like, I had choccy fountains and champagne for brekkie at Flamingo!

i got hitched there in september - class place, but suspect a little colder than the 40 degs when i was there!! can you play craps? thats the game where everyone seemed to be having fun. visit o'sheas on a thursday for the beerpong tourney, in fact the world championships may be on next week. great game.

enjoy & im jealous of you.

If you get a taxi while you are their they have small brochures in them which contain vouchers and info on shows and stuff to do plus if you fancy doing any shows while giving the gambling a break then go to Tix4Tonight which is situated at the fashion show mall just passed treasure island as decent reductions on tickets compared to buying from the box office and also you can book restaurant reservations with them

I'm loving the idea of a beer pong tournament, that sounds great fun. I've just downloaded a craps iPad app to help me learn before I go...I like the idea of asking a stranger to blow on my dice before I pitch them (I will almost certainly loose!).

yeh its class & o'sheas gets packed. for the beer pong kit its $20. that gives you two 4 pint jugs, plastic glasses & the all important ping pongs! its quite a small casino, but atmosphere was good. they have bands playing aswell. beers in there are $3 a bottle on 0.90c draft so enjoy!!

also transport wise get the bus up & down the strip. wish id have found out about it before i went. BUS. once you get used to the place you'l prob end up getting a 3 day ticket. much cheaper than the $7 dollars a day....

where you staying?

Not sure how many places that had beer pong but I remember their was an Irish casino on the strip that had about 3 beer pong tables permantly up. Someone will probably be able to tell you the name of the casino as my last trip was two years ago but remember it had a big green sign and a burger king and subway in it as well.

I got into craps on my last day while waiting for our limo back to the airport (big group of us and cheaper to get limo rather than a few taxis just make sure you agree a price before getting in) and it was a decent game. Dont be afraid to ask the dealers on how to play as they are more than happy when the table isnt busy to play you through the game and had to laugh i joined a game and was my turn to throw the dice and kept winning people money then crapped out on my money lol

Been to Vegas twice and will be going again at some point as a great place to go, gets annoying being asked for ID all the time but once they remember your face in the casino they dont bother asking you for it

yeh thats O'sheas. its got about 8 tables @ the back now. i wondered what they were when we had brekky in there in the morning.

so wanted to get into craps....on last night we went up Fremont & I noticed that you could go to craps school for free up there in Binyons. gutted as id have loved that....anyway next time.

on the Grand Canyon - you only be able to goto the South Rim. still a decent experience, but the North Rim is a lot more scenic & has better views and more wow factor, but it shuts over winter!! we were lucky to get in just before they shut for the season.

I've got myself a 'chopper booked for Wednesday afternoon - trip to the Canyon, land for a while and head back down the strip at night. I'm psyched to do it, it sounds awesome.

p.s. Hooters Casino? Don't mind if I do!

Good tip for when your gambling dont waste your money buying booze just get the waitress to sort your drinks out and just give them a tip as more money for gambling, seeing shows, wasting out as will end up spending some money on tips as it's expected well it was when I went their.

If you decide to buy any clothes over their check out the designer outlet village as it was decent when I was their last and got some bargains and had to buy an extra hand luggage bag to bring clothes back after having a good night on the tables it paid for part of my shopping trip
