A very sensible decision by British judges for a change. Support the troops! Rule Britannia http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1357662/Focus-minority-rights-result-lookin…

Not the sort of thread I'd expect from the OP.
Supporting soldiers and extremist Muslims all wrapped in a Daily Mail article.

I bet you creamed your pants when you read it?

All people who break the law should be prosecuted, no surprises.

Should see the size of the legal aid bill the UK taxpayer is having to foot for the high court action...

This crazy country we live in...

I think we should hurry up and reform, as well as leaving the convention of European Human rights which most EU countries don't fully enforce, but we in the UK do...

Its a basis for support of the EDL.

Move along, nothing to see here.

How is it supporting the EDL? You think those extremists had the right to say such nasty things about soldiers?

No, but it's a handful of people we are talking about here.

They're idiots. Everyone thinks so. What's the point in making it more than it is? The EDL is based on this one protest. It's hilarious!

Have you been converted? Why would you want this swept under the carpet? And I think you'll find its the fact these despicable Muslims had the audacity to appeal their crimes, is what has grabbed the headlines and the common sense that came from the judge. The latter being what's made it news worthy. Sorry to pee on your parade.

Where in the story are the EDL mentioned?

Or are our terrorist supporting members using diversionary tactics again...

Who said I wanted it swept under the carpet? It was a group of about 10 people Guv. So what?
It grabs headlines in pathetic attempts at newspapers. The rest of us get on with life.

No, it's the fact that the EDL was started by this one event. I find that funny!

This is a public order offence, low level, something that 1000's of people get convicted of day in and day out, not news worthy

I think it is news worthy when British soldiers are abused by others who live in this country.
If people don't like or agree with what's going on overseas then that's their opinion but the last thing they should be doing is using foul and abusive language to men and women who fight for this country and for freedom.

our soldiers are fighting for our freedom, and that includes freedom of speech. Although we might not agree with what these guys say, in this Country people should be allowed to say what ever they like. Not every one agrees with somebody else's opinion.

Freedom of speech does not include the right to scream abuse at people in the street. as somebody else said it is in fact a public order offence, the abuse they were shouting is just down right weird, when you consider the afgan governement has legalised rape, and baby girls are often left to die.

As illustrated with the previous "Anti Gay" protestor, you are talking about a handful of people here.
Why waste any time with it?
