Its got to be LED or Plasma........LED has a lovely depth of colours but the new Plasmas use less than a 3rd of the power of the old ones and beat LED in motion. They are nearly as slim as well. Forget LCD in my opinion

Did loads and loads of research before buying my new tv...
And in the end went for a Panasonic plasma...and am very happy with it

But prob loads will now come on and recommend LED..lol

LED is best but not always worth the extra expense

Depends, what will you be plugging into it? Generally for watching non hd material plasma's are better eg sky & dvds. But HD looks even more better!

movies and sports-plasma
gaming, animation or brightly lit rooms-LCD.

downside to plasma-bit heavier on the juice but the accurate colours and motion makes up for it, can be reflective in a bright room, but only if you let it bother you.
I have the lg 50pk590 and my room is painted cream. i dont tend to watch a lot of TV during the day and if i do its not movies with lots of dark scenes.

after owning a plasma now since sept, I wouldnt go back to an LCD except in 37" or below.
my sister bought a 52" samsung a while back and my old man commented that its like watching everyone in a cartoon or on my PC monitor.
he prefers his plasma too. its the nearest you'll get to a CRT screen now
