Leaving feedback for buyers on ebay?

Since ebay stopped letting sellers leave negative or even neutral feedback for buyers, and introduced the detailed score feedback for sellers i have decide to stop leaving feedback for all buyers.
The reasons being:
1) as a seller i cannot leave negative or neutral feedback, making positive feedback meaningless.
2) As a buyer feedback itself is meaningless as any buyer with any feedback can buy any item on ebay regardless of their feedback.
3) I cannot tell if a buer has left unreasonable feedback on the detailed score.
4) it has been known that people accumulate feedback as a buyer and use that good feedback to scam as a seller.
Now that i dont leave feedback i get loads of emails from buyers either requesting or demanding feedback, which is bloody annoying.
Not only that but checking every transaction to see that it was ok is very time consuming.
Surely ebay should just get rid of feedback for buyers.
End of rant, what do you think?

Woah, chill out lol.
I disagree with the abolition of neg feedback too, but leave a positive with negative words, everyone's aware that negs cant be left so anyone with sense will read the latest feedback anyway to double check. The numbers don't mean anything but the comments mean everything. you owe it to people to leave them feedback, whatever it might be.

it'll just get removed and ebay will strike down upon you with great fury and vengence.

Its a nightmare now and I only leave feedback if someone leaves it for me.

Been brewing for a while ;-)
But should you leave feedback, i dont think so, in any case it can only be a bad thing, best case senario they get a meaningless positive, worst case it can be used for fraudulant selling. There is no reason to leave buyers feedback.

Don't you think you owe it to a buyer if he has given you money promptly and been a general good egg about the whole business, to give him good feedback.
Some people won't sell to buyers unless they have at least 10 in their feedback.
How would peeps be able to buy if everyone did like you.
There are a lot of bad things about e-bay, but you don't have to be one of them.

to be perfectly honest i dont take any notice of feedback these days, you gotta do your own research because half the time buyers with decent feedback get their accoiunts hacked and used or you get buyers just blatantly trying it on

since they changed the system its gone downhill with scammers and con merchants, especially if youre selling phones ,consoles and other high end desirable goods that people think they can can have for free, by reverse paypal or doing a credit card chargeback claiming unauthorised transaction. yes some may be genuine but i know a lot aren't.....paypal scam culture its developed/ing into.....goods for nothing unless you take the necesary precautions....paypal!!

before the days of paypal being forced and everyone having to use it you didnt get people ripping you off so much, contary to what they would have evryone believe

i too have several ebay accounts and dont leave feedback unless im asked to, yes it is in protest about the changes and yes i do get reminders from ebay about not leaving them but like i said it means F all these days!

just have a look at the amount of people who havew had troiuble from buyers or had their accounts hacked, even on here there is an influx of them

2 years ago I'd have agreed with everything you said but the changes to the feedback system have left it virtually meaningless. Not being able to give a buyer negative or even a nuetral defeats the whole purpose of the thing.

Not relevant here, but thought I'd ask anyway. A buyer has left "Quick delivery. But pain to contact the courier" in a positive feedback. I think he was out when the courier came. Can I do anything about it? Thanks.

I actually despise ebay now. I have used it for over 5 years ( i think) and it is becoming more and more of a farce. Firstly it starts off with you have to use paypal, then they up their fees extortionately, remove the ability for a seller to leave negative feedback then introduce free postage on certain items only for this free postage to be rolled out on even more items in june. Its ridiculous but they are doing it because they know they can and nobody is willing to fight it. Ebid is probably the closest auction site to it , but even that is not busy.

I looked to sell a mobile phone on there last week. The phone sells for roughly £180 the fees were going to be nearly £20!!!!!

I despise ebay i really do and i hate the way they are calling the shots.
I have always paid my fees on time, and sent a payment to them to the sum of £11. Payment went through and that was that. I then left my ebay account for a while and when i went back a few months later it had been suspended. I enquired as to why and they said I had not paid. Their system had a glitch and rejected my payment. I had letters from debt companies and I had to pay £30 more than the original fees.

its disgusting.

thats why the profits and shares are going down.....

the only bit making money is paypal with an increase because of forcing people to use it and have an account, they are now seen as the "norm" in the uk and people have used them for other things not just paypal....which was their ploy .....they couldnt enforce it in oz as the people stuck together and took it to the accc

in the uk people just accept it and say nowt.......brainwashed into thinking nobody is trustworthy gotta use paypal, which in turn has created a scam culture which wasnt there or was no way as big anyway

expect more fee hikes in the new financial year by paypal, along with all the ifree postage etc etc which now has to be included in the price to help thme raise a few extra pennies for the shareholders
