can you not get money back? did you use paypal?
#3
Used Paypal, I've sent them an email letting them know I don't want it. Odd thing is, they have a lot of feedback for the same item and they are all positive.

, but if you make 20 customers happy and rip off one , it makes for convincing case . Saw something on message boards a while back a power seller with over 500 positive feedback fleeced about 100 people in 3 days last xmas on xbox 360 lives at £300 a fleece i dont know if anyone ever caught up with him but you do the sums b4 ebay fees thats £30k.

Report item to ebay if seller wont refund as item not as described

how u know its fake, how much was it
#6
So sorry for you, but if the item is not as described paypal will consider a full refund, and also you can leave them negative feedback. But you have to be sure it is not as described. Good luck

It cost £24. The description says it's Dualshock 3 with SIXAXIS technology, picture shows a real one with authentic packaging. I know it's fake because the packaging looks awful and says "PIII" instead of Sony. On the controller, there is no "sony" "dualshock 3" or "SIXAXIS" branding and the middle button says "P3" instead of the playstation logo. It's possible these are made in the same places (as a lot of fakes are) as the official ones but just don't get the branding, but to be honest, it feels cheap so I'm not so sure.

by the way, if you search for "dualshock 3" on ebay, bottom of the first page there are about 15 of the same from the seller I bought from.

word of advice for future reference, all those photos are stock photos. They are not a photo of teh actual product the seller has in hand. This is the reason i believe that HUKD FS/FT rules ask all new sellers to photographed they FS items with HUKD name in piccie to prove they have actually got the items to hand and are not selling stuff for profit like the fake nunchuck on deal extreme , whilst they may actually be as good and hardly differ from real thing they are still fake ones:thumbsup:

I use stock photo's on ebay especially if its the contents of a box that is sealed and never had a problem, although I do include a photo of the outer sealed box in with them.

I opened a Paypal dispute yesterday. Seller said it's not a copy, just their own one which "looks exactly the same" and that their item is exactly as the one pictured, although of course it isn't as the pictures were the official SONY item. Hopefully the fact they called the controller "dualshock 3" and "SIXAXIS" which I assume are Sony trademarks, as well as picturing the Sony one, proves they were intentionally misleading despite now saying the listing was only ever for their own unofficial product and not the real one. I escalated the claim, anyone know what the chances of Paypal finding in my favour are? I can return the item to the seller and close the claim, but I'm a bit weary about sending something recorded to China which will be expensive, and risk losing even more money - I recently received an item from an online shop which was broken, they told me to return it for an exchange and include the postage receipt, but I was never able to get that refunded depite getting a replacement.
#12
have you got an item number of a similar one?

260276439626

The negative feedback is starting to roll in for this item.

Paypal say to return the item recorded, which I have to pay for :x but the seller sent me an email outside of paypal saying to return it standard mail and they will refund the item plus postage, not sure what to do? :?

Buying anything branded from a china seller on ebay is always a massive risk IMO, the sellers come and go and when they start receiving negative feedback on a particular item they will switch ebay accounts, they often have several at once anyway with them selling cheap generic electronics that are fairly good buys and receive decent feedback, then they will start selling higher value snides until the negatives start flooding in, by which time they have sold plenty of them and switch to the next account.

sorry wasnt able to post the other day, my account was playing up - do you have a link to the item? Im sure paypal will refund it if it is not as described
#17
Yeah, item number on last page for same item from that seller.

I can't really do anything now, paypal only gives me the options to cancel the claim or send them the tracking number - first option I pay for some knock off fake and let it be, second option I return it recorded at a cost of almost 1/2 what I paid for the item anyway. I guess it goes to show, you're better off not being honest in these sort of situations and claiming the item was never received for a full refund.

Just send a standard sized empty envelope to them recorded:whistling:, once paypal have the number is when they refund anyway they dont need proof of it being delivered just of a valid number:thumbsup:

lol :giggle: guess I could pop a photo of the controller in the envelope with "looks like what you thought you were receiving" written on it :-D

Pretty fishy I think, if you go with standard mail then you'll get nothing from Paypal as they'll ask for a tracking number which I think is exactly why the seller has asked for this. However if you send it recorded you should get your money back from Paypal.

As far as I can tell, it's about £9.50 to send a small package up to 500 grams recorded to China, so as the seller said they would pay the postage I've told them it will cost them this plus refunding the £24 I paid for the item, and said I will accept a partial refund equivalent to what they will have to pay for postage anyway, will see what they say to that. At the end of the day, they are in the wrong and I don't think I should have to pay that fee as suggested by Paypal.

This is the 4th time I've been scammed on ebay, Paypal have never got a penny back for anything despite finding in my favour the other 3 times.

If anyone wants to know the outcome of this should you find yourself in a similar situation. We agreed on a refund of 1/2 what I paid almost a week ago, but email after email it still didn't materialise so yesterday I said I was now passing the issue on to my credit card company (I always pay on my card through Paypal for the online protection - this was one of the very few occasions I had money in my account and so didn't, they weren't to know that though :-D ) then low and behold I have a full refund this morning saying just cancel my claim and draw the line there. So all's well that end's well I guess :)

you may find buying from china saves you about 30-40% on shop prices here, but it aint worth the hassle, should the item you receive be a fake!!
