Lewis Hamilton - will he get the Championship? YES HE DOES!

Brazilian Grand Prix at Sao Paulo tomorrow.
Will he win it?

Lewis Hamilton has only to make it to the finishing line in the first five in Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix and, at the age of 23, he will become Formula One's youngest world champion.

That "only" entails driving very fast for 190 miles, 71 times round a track where water runs across the asphalt if it rains.

 who knows but it will be fun finding out... my moneys on very wet track and watch the said hopefulls tip toeing around to get the possitions while alonso tries to find his moment to take out Hamelton :-D

Or my own 5 pence is £10 bet with Extrabet.com for Massa to win ( 45 quid back ) ... and even if Hamelton do win still get £25 quidco back :whistling.

so i will be happy either way

of cause in the old days Hamelton would have said buy now that he will just take out Massa just like Senna and prost would do :D

I didn't want him to win, but after hearing about the racial slurs against him on that Spanish website, I will cheer him on. :)

Yes, terrible story http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/nov/01/hamilton-racism-formula-one-spain

But I would be rooting for him anyway

Nervous for him though - he's been darned unlucky before, hope it doesn't happen again.

your right maybe they are going to change the odds for after Qual

Its in the bag! The stewards will disqualify Hamilton for "not being Brazilian" and fine him £50Million for "not driving a Ferrari". Max Mosley will declare it a "good day for the integrity of Formula1" and Massa will be a deserved(!) world champion.

I have never taken to him, I don't know why.

Don't like to see that sort of prejudice in any form, so I will cheer him on in the hope you rubs all their noses in it.

Qualifying in 20 minutes.

Go Kimmi, I mean Lewis.

I want him to win for England .. but like so many British sports men and women they always manage to blow it at the final hurdle... .. Lets hope its really wet and no safety cars

i support Hamilton ...

1. very talented and dedicated driver
just needs to be in control of himself more, not get too excited, only to be expected at a guy his young age.

2. he's worked his socks off (with his committed dad, think of how much they have had to go through, you'd have to be mad to do what they did week in week out)
so i respect him for that.

3. for GB
we as a nation, are our own sportsmen's worst enemy.

I hope lewis wins the champioship but I have a feeling that alonso will crash into him and take him out of the race

Kimi Massa Hamelton Alonso Pile up into Senna curve?... :)

despite my dislike for hamilton any deliberate foul play by alonso should incur a heavy fine/ban as he hasn't hidden his intent in saying he'll try his bes to deny hamilton the title

ROFL HOPEFULLY ALONSO WILL DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND FORGET TO BREAK ON THAT FIRST CORNER!

Its all going to end in tears

Fernando Alonso wore the biggest smile after the final practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Spaniard spoiled the symmetry of a McLaren one-two literally in the closing seconds of the session, when he jumped from 18th to first place with a lap of 1m 12.141s for Renault.

Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen were very happy, however, with 1m 12.212s and 1m 12.225s laps apiece, since they put them clear of fourth-placed Felipe Massa on 1m 12.312s in the Ferrari.

...

Remarkably, there were no significant incidents.

What I'd like to know from those who say they dislike Hamilton (or hope he loses) is why? My reasons for supporting him have been well summarised by kippy already, but I'm always surprised at the sheer number of fellow Brits against him. In the Olympics you would rarely if ever have Brits actively voicing their hope that a British athlete is beaten. What's the difference here? :?

Coz F1 fans are a strange bunch :-D

from my own point of view if he wins then its all good for him....but its just the case of being given the best the car to start of with... it just dont sit right with me.... not Senna nor Schuy where gifted with one of the best seats to start off in... and its through this i belive that Lewis weak spot shows "to much to young" .. yes hes fast yes hes good but when the pressure is realy on he starts to crack.

You can argue that his results in the lower class give him the right to start in best car on the grid but that personal choice.

take a look at Kubica and Vetel, both just as good as Lewis and building when there time comes and with Vetel it will they will be better placed to take it having slogged it out in the "lower" cars getting experience.

and if it was down to me would be Mansell FTW every year still ;)

Hamilton gets alot of stick for Winning which i dont understand he's a great driver and of course everyones going to criticise him the most when he finally does something wrong everyone makes such a big deal about it. Motorsport isnt clockwork it runs in the moment and isnt always flowing the right direction sometimes.

Anyways my supports to Hamilton I hope he wins it after the fatil error from last year. He really deserves it after his hard work this year. Fingers Crossed!

GIFTED the best car! So the previous 12 years of karting, Formula Renault, Formula 3 and GP2 when he won championships, counted for nothing? He was just given a drive for a laugh! He earned the right to be in that car, he doesn't have a rich father. What he has is talent that was recognised a long time ago by Ron Dennis. Remember last season when the World Champion had to beg Ron Dennis to tell Hamilton not to overtake him in Monaco. Remember all last season when he was consistently faster than Alonso. The champioship was lost when the team failed him in China, by telling him to stay out on tyres that were down to the canvas and then his own team mate (the ever bitter Alonso) forced him wide at turn 4 in Brazil.
Lets face it he has hardly had a smooth ride this season, some mistakes but some equally dubious decisions from the stewards.
McLaren the best car? Doubtful!
If he wins, he has won from adversity. He isn't popular with other drivers, nobody will be helping him. Why is he not popular? Because he is aggressive and more talented than the majority of the journeyman in F1.
I like Lewis Hamilton because he was what the sport needed. He will be an anti-hero just like Schumacher, you either love him or hate him.
He will win the Championship tomorrow because he is the best driver on the grid, simple.

I honestly don't know why I don't support him in general. He's the 1st British driver I have felt like this about.

I should be 100% behind him as he is someone that my son can see succeeding in a sport that historically is void of people "Like him".

I just think that he is a touch too arrogant, and acts more like a celebrity than the talented driver that he definitely is.

Yes, I've heard this arrogant claim a few times and not noticed it myself - but then I don't follow F1 much more than maybe watch the race and/or highlights. Oh well, if does come across that way, I'm guessing tit might have more (or as much) to do with perception as reality. Maybe not though. But all things being equal, I'd support him for exactly the same reasons that you've mentioned about your son. Obama will (hopefully) do the same for millions of African-Americans

Bless him..

All winning drivers are arrogant and selfish, that is what seperates the winners from the losers. Nice guys don't win, because when push comes to shove they don't have that nasty streak that says "no, you are not beating me!"

More importantly, which is hottest.
