hi ,a friend gave me a lg prada as they coiuldnt get it working with their sim. They bought it at a carboot and didnt have a sim to try in it when there but it powers up ect so thought it would be fine. They did say they were selling as they lost their phone ,reproted it lost then found it a few months later but had a new phone by then from insurance so selling as not needed
Trouble is when she put her sim in it it said rejected ,so i tried my sim and same message came up.
Can this be fixed ?

no the phone company will have blocked the phones IMEI which is basicallly the phones barcode and no matter what sim is put in it wont work as it has been blocked from functioning.
i believe you bought a stolen phone - it sounds like it has been barred - flog it on ebay to another country, will work there.

lol thankyou.Could it be sold on as spares or repair then? it all starts up with sim in etc so someone could use the screen, case etc couldnt they:?
Just use it as a digital camera and mp3 player lol

Well i suppose she could but she wants to try and get some money back to go towards another phone.Even if if just a little

Don't sell it on the bay, you can't as it's a blocked/stolen phone if your buyer gets confirmation it's stolen from the network pp will refund without them having to return the phone and you can't list as blocked registered as stolen  If they are out for a freebie, easy to do they complain to pp they were sold "stolen goods" they get confirmation, they get a refund.

You can't sell it legally as it would be selling stolen goods, the phone will have been registered stolen, insurance companies don't pay out for "lost" phones.
You were had, it's a common scam, people report a phone stolen claim on the insurance and then sell it on, double money. Why you should never buy a phone on ebay, happens all the time, after 45 days is up.

Best you can do is phone the network and tell them what happened, they take insurance fraud quite seriously and will chase the people concerned. You should be thinking more of telling the police rather than trying to flog the goods, it could get you in bother.

thankyou for the advice.will let her know and make sure she dosent buy anymore from carboot sales.
It won't get you into bother the prada is like a 3 year old phone lol. Sell it on eBay as faulty signal and alot of potential buyers know what this is. You should get like minimum £30 for it.
tbh looking closely ,its mostly polish people buying these phones. Ive sold one on ebay as me too got ripped of from a carbootsale.
