Evening all!

Bought a Viewty last year from a thread on HUKD for my daughter, who has only recently found where she'd hidden it, so it's about to go "live", so to speak.

Thing is, she's on an O2 tariff which doesn't have any data download allowance and I know it's only a matter of time before she starts messing with the "O2 Active" button and trying all sorts of expensive stuff which she doesn't need.

Now, I've checked this intermiweb as much as possible and can't find a way of deleting the Access Points which seem to be built into the Viewty. There are 2 such Access Points "O2 PAYG" and "O2 Monthly".

Ideally I'd like to remove these from the connection profile to prevent accidental (or otherwise) access to the net (she can use the net on her lappy at home) but I cannot find a way of inhibiting this function on the Viewty. Alternatively if I could change the settings so it doesn't work that'd be fine too.

Has anyone successfully removed internet functionality from an O2 Viewty?

I just edit the details to a '.' or the number one on my phones.

There are only "Add" and "View" options, not Edit

I have an o2 viewty that was connecting itself to wap so I just changed the connection to sonething so if it connects itself new I just get the unable to connect message...

If I need it i just select o2 again.

Sorry - just checked my phone to see how I turned off o2 Active and Wap
touch bottom left icon (looks like a square)
touchthird icon down on left (looks like a file with a clock on it)
1st Icon should be o2 Active - select that.
select settings - then profiles...
now select off
DONE!

I bet there are other ways of doing it but this works - i have been using my phone like this for over a year and when the o2 active button gets presses when in my pocket it just says no connection.

I'm on o2 pay as you go.

my tarrif gives me free internet... but the stupid button is always on the screen and cannot be removed.
So it was always connecting by itself.. so any free internet I had was being wasted.

I can always turn the button back on if I need it.

I just tried that. I don't see an "off" option :? The buttons available on the bottom show a white box bottom left which allows an "add/view", then an Activate option, then a return option.

Thanks for all the other replies.
