LG W2252S 22" VS. Samsung SM223BW 21.6"?

I'm looking at a new 22" monitor to buy and have so far wittled myself down to these two.

The Samsung is £164.99 on Ebuyer, and the LG is £131.77, but what I don't get is the LG seemingly has superior specs:

* Type; TN
* Size 22
* Resolution 1680 X 1050
* Pixel Pitch 0.282 X 0.282
* Brightness 300 cd/m2
* Contrast Ratio 10000:1 DFC (Original 700:1)
* Viewing Angle H: 170°/V : 170° (CR≥5)
* Response Time 2ms (GTG)
* Display Colors 16.7M

* Screen Size 21.6" Widescreen
* Resolution 1680 x 1050
* Brightness 300cd/㎡
* Contrast Ratio 1,000:1 (DC3,000:1)
* Response time 5ms
* Viewing Angle (Horizontal/Vertical) 170˚/160˚
* Colour supported 16.7Mil

does anyone have these monitors? which would you go for....? something else?

I think you've got the response time of the LG wrong, the S model is 5ms. I guess somebody copied the entry for the 2ms W2252TQ and forgot to change it.

Don't put much faith in the specs though, they only cover a few specific features of the monitor and don't tell you anything about the overall quality.

Out of the two I'd go for LG since I don't like Samsung's buisness practices but I'd only go for a screen that's among the very cheapest if I couldn't afford anything better. How about something like the Viewsonic VX2240w? It got a fairly good review here.

My first choice for a 22" would probably be the new PVA that HP has just released (the LP2275w) but that is around £300 at the moment.
The contrast on the LG is a blag.

I have the W2252TQ and, while it's a nice monitor, it's not 10,000:1..

I'd have gone for the Samsung, if I'd looked a little harder..
