The email I recieved
Here at LIFE Mobile, we've decided to take an exciting step (quite a big one actually) and naturally, couldn't wait to share our news with you.

On 29th November we're joining forces with Plusnet, the award-winning phone and broadband company, to launch Plusnet Mobile.

Like us, Plusnet have a great reputation for looking after their customers. That's why you don't need to do anything – your mobile service, pricing and plan will stay exactly the same.

Most importantly, the service you receive and the price you pay won't change. We're still proud to be using EE, the network that covers 99% of the UK population, so there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Soon you'll notice your network carrier change to 'plusnet', as well as emails from Plusnet in your inbox. Plus you'll have access to more great value products and special offers - we'll tell you more about these over the coming weeks.

If you've got any burning questions on the switch, check out our FAQs.

Here at LIFE Mobile we're excited about our future together. We hope you will be too.

The LIFE Mobile Team
As part of the launch of Plusnet Mobile, your contract will be transferred to Plusnet plc on 29th November.

As Plusnet will be responsible for providing your service from this date, your personal data will be transferred to Plusnet. But they'll still keep it safe and in accordance with all relevant laws.

We've also worked with Plusnet to create new terms and conditions that are simpler and easier to understand. These will take effect on 1st January.

In the meantime, if you’ve got any questions on these terms and conditions, the FAQs should have the answers you seek.

It's worth mentioning that existing Life Mobile users won't be affected and their 3G tariffs will remain the same, but after 29th November the current Life Mobile tariffs for new customers and the Life Mobile brand will be abolished and replaced by Plusnet Mobile tariffs, which are:

500MB 4G data
250 minutes
500 texts
30 day contract
£5.00 per month

1GB 4G data
1000 minutes
Unlimited texts
30 day contract
£7.50 per month

2GB 4G data
1500 minutes
Unlimited texts
30 day contract
£10.00
per month

4GB 4G data
Unlimited minutes
Unlimited texts
30 day contract
£15.00 per month (reduced introductory offer of £10 per month)

So those who are after a nice cheap SIM for use in a dumb phone, or perhaps those who don't use much data and don't care about 4G might want to consider snapping up one of Life's £4.95 or £5.95 tariffs via uSwitch before they go.

Realistically how many actually bought direct and not through an offer off the likes of uswitch

the 4gb offer at an introductory offer or £10 is a bit pricey, slightly higher than 'Three' who have 'feel at home' deal, dont think this is very good is it?

I suppose one of the selling points of Plusnet Mobile is that you have access to EE's excellent 4G coverage. Although Three and EE share each other's 3G networks, Three's 4G network coverage doesn't even come close to EE's.

this gonna be terrible have a look at screen shot giving customers far less and expecting them to pay far more compare these deals with current life deals......cold from me

awful merge for customer joining after 29th November. profitable to them merging bad news for us

... and still no plans to start supporting SMS shortcodes or a release date for their mobile app, that has been 'coming soon' for a year or more.

Better value 4G tariffs than the 'new' Plusnet ones have always been available from LIFE after you've been with them for 6 months. Maybe you can still get them until the 29th...?

I'm gutted by this. Really impressed with Life Mobile & have a number of sims with them.

I'm less likely to stay with Plusnet. The whole point of joining Life was ... because it was Life!!

doesn't sound very competitive pricing to me. glad i bought two cheap sims from them last month but as it is monthly, i wouldn't be surprised that plusnet will increase their price eventually. shame.

just glad i didn't switch to life for my main mobile line as it would have been a waste of time.

I'm currently with life and for me the change improves my current deal. However, if you're saying 3 is better what is the link you refer to?

OH MY GOD

i left CRAPNET broadband after their crappy customer service and internet service and dealing with Life mobile who answer the phone within a couple of rings its very likely that people will now spend 40 minutes or more to discuss their mobile account

life mobile quotes "Like us, Plusnet have a great reputation for looking after their customers. "

Thats a lie PLUSNET HAVE A CRAP REPUTATION FOR LOOKING AFTER THEIR CUSTOMERS"

I have 2 Life Mobile sims, not for long. Those prices are terrible. I can see Plusnet Mobile being sold off after 12 months.

Existing customers are not affected, your plan will remain as it is.

Until the price goes up. Remember, it's only a 30 day plan.

Oh s***. Just moved to life about a month ago and was perfectly happy. Now need to start looking and switchover all over again. Don't want lousy customer service at any price ever again. Talktalk nearly drove me insane.
What's 3 customer service like and the switchover? Can anybody advise please?

I just rang life to see if they would match the current Tesco deal that has 6gb data but they can only go up to 4gb, I still went with it though. So I now get the maxi deal for £10pm. I'll see how it goes.

He did mention that Plusnet have some prelaunch deals such as 4gb 4G data with unlimited mins and texts for £10 but I couldn't have that as I don't have a 4G phone. Might be useful for someone else though.

You do know you can use 4G SIMs in 3G only phones?
