Updated story:

A light plane has crashed into homes in Kent, leading to grave fears for residents and six people believed to be on board the aircraft.

An eye witness described seeing a "big ball of fire" and plumes of smoke at the crash site.

"There was a massive hole in the roof of the house, you can see where it went through," said Karl Mills, who saw the incident.

The private Cessna aircraft hit Broadwater Gardens, a residential area in Farnborough.

Local resident John Waite said: "I was sitting in the garden and I had this very loud engine noise, it sounded like an aeroplane during manoeuvres at an airshow.

"Obviously it wasn't that."

"I just worry for the people on board the aircraft and people in their homes."

ky correspondent Martin Brunt said: "There are a number of houses on fire".

"A huge mobilisation of the emergency services has begun.

"It is unlikely that any of those six on board would have stood much chance of surviving.

"And there is concern about people who would have been at home or in their garden.

"There is real concern that quite a number of casualties are likely to emerge from this."

You might have got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning (maybe the lost hour has made you grumpy lol) but no need to come shouting at people here. I'm now going to turn on the TV precisely because I have heard it here first. Thanks OP!
