Since the length is 3 metres both ways, it must be 3metres surely?

96.8751 ft² if I am understanding the question correctly, you want 9 square metres converted into square feet?

Linear is basically the length.
All you need to do is convert 3 metres into feet. (9.84)

I wouldn't have thought so, as linear is not a term that someone would add to a calculation.
It could be easily omitted, but unlikely to be added.
