List the DVDs You Own

hypnoticstate Avatar

Make a list of all the DVDs that you own (unless it's a mammoth list in size and would take to long, in which case, keep walking)

This applies to genuine copies only (shop-bought, not downloaded and put on disc or pirate copies.......not that anyone here would think of such a thing).

Did you not read my original post? This list has been compiled DVD by DVD as an when i bought them. I spent about 45 seconds making the post.

Heres mine:

Oh actually that doesn't count as I didn't 'buy' it, I made it:giggle:

You have become quite the spammer and intruder in to peoples lives, if the faces dont quite match you look through there dvds to make sure its the person your after.

Spammer? No, I've never spammed. Intruder? No, Interested in the people who i speak to online every day and their personalities.

I dabble in hypnosis as a fun hobby and that's largely a psychology thing obviously. Because of this, i obviously find "peopl-watching" interesting and trying to work out the kind of person someone is. That's probably why most of my posts are all insights in to members as people and not just names and an avatar. An image shows who you are, a video does so even better, pictures of areas people live in is also a good indicator of their environments and, as a result, their personalities which are reflected from this and even a DVD list is a great way of showing what kind of person someone is. Why do you think i said not to include DVDs that weren't shop bought? Because these could be obtained freely. If someone has bought something then it's something they've paid for an actively given something in order to obtain, meaning their personalities match with that DVD in some ways.

See? all about getting to know you people better. What have i learned so far? Almost everyone here is much friendlier and welcoming than on most forums. People are open-minded and generous. However there are a few who aren't as nice. The kind of people who get suspicious if someone wants to share a DVD list. Very questionable personalities these people have. Very untrusting. Maybe a reflection on their own personalities?

First off it takes a LOT more effort to download certain DVD's than to buy them. For example I spent months searching for a download of Breaking Glass because it's a deleted title and in dispute over release rights with the old distributor (meaning it's unlikely to get a re-release), so I don't think that's necessarily true.

As for 'Very questionable personalities these people have.', I disagree entirely. The fact is, these people KNOW the dangers of the internet and what random pieces of information can be used for. For example a good few years ago I socially engineered some random info out of somebody on MSN and scared the cr*p out of them when I told them their address, they were foolish enough to use their real name as their hotmail addy for a start......

Spot on Shengis. I used to play scrabble online against people from all round the world but mainly Americans. Most Americans are extremely lax with internet security and I warned a couple of players that they were putting themselves in danger.
One particular person refused to believe it so I got their permission to see what I could find out about them.
Needless to say they, like your person, were more than shocked when I provided them with details like name, address, telephone number, where they worked, details of some work they had had carried out on their house and of course a very good pic of their house. There was more as the US has a much more open system of gaining personal details but I didn;t want to appear too much of a stalker lol !

Must admit I am a litlle less secure nowadays than I used to be so maybe this thread has been a gentle reminder to be careful out there, you never know who's behind the monitor :w00t:

Sheng, I can't believe i've seen someone mention this film. Do you know about the completed but unreleased sequel? IIRC it's on the wiki page. It's on my 'desperately wanted' list along with the filmed but never shown second series of 'Shane'.

Sheng, I can't believe i've seen someone mention this film. Do you know about the completed but unreleased sequel? IIRC it's on the wiki page. It's on my 'desperately wanted' list along with the filmed but never shown second series of 'Shane'.

Yeah wicked film. I've had the soundtrack in my car for over a year. Very rare I can put up with a CD that long without turning it into a frisbee at some random point on the motorway  Hadn't heard of the follow up though, but there is a film about a dodgy reporter that goes by the same name that was released at around that time so maybe that was why it was held back:thinking:

guv
But, er... you... are.. really Mr Shengis aren't you?

Regards
Mr Guv

PS are you refering to Hazel O'Conner and Phil Daniels?

Of course:-D Nearly went to see her play at Tonbridge Wells last November but didn't get the chance. Oh well.

Completely random, but going back to the social engineering thing and people giving out info on the net, see what you make of this. I think it really shows how little I do actually care that people can identify me itrw. Mr Shengis indeed;-)

As I said, the DVD list is all the DVDs that me AND MY PARTNER have bought; my partner being female (though i admit, the two My Girl films and Marry Poppins are mine, but they're just there because i watched them as a child and its more a nostalgic thing than anything else).

I KNOW the dangers of the internet better than most. I was using the internet when Jim Bowen was in nappies (Ok, not since then, but a very long time - mid 90s) and i bet everyone else here who didn't act so defensively KNOW that dangers of the internet as well, they're just more realistic about things. There's a lot of moaners on this site i've noticed (dont worry, that doesnt apply to 95% of you, you lot are OK.

I think you need to prove your masculinity and identify her DVDs and yours.
Unless you are a Metrosexual, a modern bloke in touch with his feminine side...and hides behind a mean looking photo...and I say that in the nicest way...
