Little girl seeks Orange "togetherness" wind up toy

My 3yr old daughter is daft on the orange broadband advert and keeps asking for one of the wind up toys.

I know it is a long shot and a bit cheeky, but does anyone have one they dont want or can someone pick me one up from an orange shop because my local one has none left.

I will happy pay all costs involved.

I really don't expect to get one, but thanks for reading this post anyway, and any advice on finding one will be greatfully received.

OH and Happy New Year to you too. :-D

I didbn't know you could get them from Orange shops - my OH also keeps saying that she needs one or her life won't be complete etc etc!
#2
Orange were selling them for a recommended £1 donation to charity.
They're probably gold dust now as they started selling on Dec 8th.

Thank you ever so much, I will message you in a min, I never realised they did keyrings too, and my wee one love bags so she can hang it on one of the zips or from the zip on her cardies :-D and scoring a zillion brownie points off my daddy's girl will do my reputation wonders :giggle:

If the £1 toys were keyrings I wonder where you got wind up ones? I was led to believe they were small toys (rather than big ones like in the adverts) also for a £1 min donation in the orange shop. :?

Trust me to be a million miles behind everyone else when it comes to knowing about such things, and trust my daughter to want something that is hard to find. LOL I wounder will orange get more, think I will email them and ask

I was going to say have you tried eBay but I just had a look and they are going for a small fortune!! Crazy, please don't spend a fortune on one...kids should learn they can't always get what they want ;)

Yes I found that out a wee while ago when a friend suggested ebay, and no I wouldn't spend that much on one, I could never justify that out of my budget. I think my daughter will be delighted with the keyring, dog-cop has so kindly offered to send her, and I hope they will let me give them something for it after seeing what ebay is getting for them.
My daughter may not understand fully how lucky she will be to have one, but it is nice she gets something she wants as i don't normally go for all these branded things, seen on TV but as I thought they were a pound and money went to charity I thought why not......I am going to contact orange about this, to see if they are going to made more, and if not why not, as I think it is an outrage people want them enough to spend that sort of money on ebay, when the charity should be getting the money.

I did some research (googled it  ) and the money went to Sense http://www.sense.org.uk/
organisation for children and adults who are deafblind or have associated disabilities.

I have to say I agree ebay should not let these be sold unless the profits (or at least some of them) went to the charity. It just seems wrong. I am going to get intouch with orange about this tomorrow and see what they say. I don't think getting intouch with ebay will do any good as I have tried this before on another matter.

Im not sure ebay has a conscience, so dont expect them to pull this kind of thing off their servers soon!

To be honest I don't see why it matters, at the end of the day Orange will sell all the toys for £1 and will produce a set amount so the charity will get exactly the same amount of money whether the toys are sold to one person at a time or if one person buys a hundred.

Most of the people buying these aren't buying them because they want to give to charity, they're buying them cos they're a fashion accessory/ retro item.

So the charity will get the same amount no matter who buys/sells them.

The greed of those selling on ebay is weighed up with the foolishness of those buying them at such ridiculous prices.

Problem is it looks like they only made a very limited number, if they made more, more people would buy them and more would go to charity insted of ebay sellers pockets.

For the life of me I don't understand this anti Ebay thing when it comes to charity stuff.

It's just market forces and something that we all suscribe to in one way or another. No more, no less. Why blame Ebay for what the consumer is willing to pay ?

Ebay has many many faults and needs taking to task for much more serious issues like (lack of) verification and failure to prevent wholesale scamming on it's sites.

Just my opinion though. :)

Forgot to add I contacted my local Orange shop and they don't have any otherwise you would have been welcome to one.

Hope you find one. :)

Orange were indeed furious about ebay members trying to make money off the back of a charity product http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,1970441,00.html?gusrc=rss&feed=24

Our Orange store shut down last year, otherwise I'd have popped down the road to try and get one for you.

Yeah I bet they just hate all the publicity !

Why have they not ordered any more then ? Surely they have the chance to make loads of money for the said charity ?

I still can't understand the logic in having a go at Ebay. (On this issue, lol)

just popped into my local orange shop and all they have left are the little key rings as for the wind up toys ALL gone but I have a friend who works in the shop who is making some enquiries. Also they were horrified at the prices that they were on ebay, anyway sent mine to a little girl up in scotland. If anyone one wants the key ring type let me know :viking:
