Due to the large volume of posting on this issue, here is a collected post for HotUKDeals members affected by the Littlewoods £25 voucher charge-back.

The issue: Littlewoods £25 voucher charge-back

This is the issue as summarised by frollickingfrill's reply from Consumer Direct: "You placed an order with Littlewoods using a £25 voucher, you paid the remaining amount on your credit card. The order was processed and the goods were delivered, since receiving the goods you have been contacted for payment of the £25 as T state use of the voucher was not authorised."

HotUKDeals member action

For those affected by the issue who wish to dispute the charge-back - several HotUKDeals members have set-up a web site to collect details, organise a collective story and push the issue. HUKD has pledged to assist with finding legal advice if the group can get organised, have a fact-based story and contact list. The site is: http://www.geteven.biz If you do not want to register at the site, but want to include your case, they have asked for emails to: [email protected]

Just want to say guys make sure you follow this through, whatever LW and TS say they WILL back down.

I took on LW on behalf of a member here (I think Paul is aware) and had a successful result.

Yep, this is honestly so straight forward, if you paid by card payment. When the screen shows the price (including discount), you then authorise that amount to be charged on your card. They cannot charge any more than this amount, well not legally anyway.

Easiest way, is to always keep a screen print (copy and paste to notepad or similar) and then just do a chargeback. Your card provider will send you a standard letter to sign and ask for you to attach any paperwork you have confirming this, just attach the screen print.

LW won't have a leg to stand on and the charge will be refunded. Not sure exactly what happens if you have an account with them. The legalities might be slightly different and you may have to resort to a small claims court. Which they know the majority won't, due to inertia, lack of transport, not knowing the system etc.

They are not(to my knowledge) charging credit cards, only illegally opening credit accounts in customers names. :w00t:

Oh god, even better. So they're opening a credit account without a signed credit agreement. They can't enforce that then. However it may be simpler to send them an LBA and then do the online small claims thing, to knock them in to touch.

I've pointed this out once or twice(been ignored), but people are wanting to take a sledge hammer to crack a nut.

Their money, their choice.

There are people that have had accounts for two years and have been using vouchers during this time. LW have now cancelled all of those vouchers and are demanding payment. Given they have done this, they could quite easily cancel yours.

Please post on this thread or register at www.getevn.biz tho if you wish to get more advice.

Cheers

Its happened to me with Littlewoods , i got a letter telling me my credit card had been charged for discounts that didn't apply to me....i noticed on my online credit card account that they already taken some and they were due to take more so i rang my card company up and cancelled the card and got sent a new one.

This was a while back now so i have not got all the details and also now closed my littlewoods account down , so I'm not going to chase up the remaining money owed to me...just never to shop with this poor excuse of a company ever again.

What makes sick its not like they cant afford it seeing as they rob poor people blind with the sky high APR rates
