ok , been using the usual littlewoods codes that come up on here for a while now,and didnt listen to the littlewoods police that are in the posts warning about them .... well ....

got a email asking "can you please let me know how youhave obtained the voucher codes you are using with your orders. We needthis information as soon as possible as if the vouchers are not valid wewill re-charge the value to your account. Our terms and conditions areon the website and must be adhered to. I will copy in below for you

2.3 Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefitssuch as discounts, free delivery and free gifts. These codes arenon-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they areissued and must only be used in accordance with their terms andconditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotionalbenefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you areeligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit you willbe confirming that:- (i) you are entitled to use the code;(ii) you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;(iii) you agree to the terms set out below. If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled touse the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, wemay reject your order or alternatively process it without thepromotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, wefind that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all theterms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that youobtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or creditcard, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of thebenefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a creditbasis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your creditaccount. 2.4 Should you wish to cancel your order or return any goods, please goto the Returns section for further information.

do you think they will charge me for all the codes??

they will have a list or codes sent to the person though.

My advice = cancel your card/ask for a new card to be issued...ie your current one has broken, or similar excuse to get a new one, that will mean they cant process your card details

This is why i only use the codes you can see on their site, or that get sent to me

Some people never learn

They're not known as littlehoods for nothing you know......

Tell them that they would be breaking the law if they charged you more than you agreed. :)

oh whoops

Littlewoods catch out another one!

It is well documented here that Littlewoods (in all their various guises) WILL claw back monies from codes used by people not entitled to them

no point moaning about it - its in their T&Cs which you should have read

that thing you bought don't look so cheap now eh!

Why are they breaking the law?

Their terms and conditions clearly state that they will claw back the money if its found you were not entitled to the voucher code

These terms form part of the contract that you agree to when you buy the item

no law has been broken

What do you expect when you have used different codes 4 times in a short period of time on the same account.

They usually send codes out to people who haven't ordered in a long while.

As the saint has stated they are breaking the law changing the agreed contract.

Not true

the contract agreed on is subject to the terms and conditions which you agree to when purchasing!!!!!

Glad you've been educated this morning. :)

An unfair contract is legally unenforceable.

wasnt moaning about it , though it was funny hence the lol in the title! £65 from £1700 didnt make it look so cheap in the first place!

some people on here should contact littlewoods for a job as the time and effort they put into VOLUNTEERING for them on this site is comical! :whistling:

also called them this morning , and they wont be taking the money back from my account , but all future orders i make using a code will be checked before despatch of goods.

Dear Miss Faulkner,
Thank you for choosing to shop at http://www.empirestores.co.uk

Below is a summary of your order dated 08/Jun/2009. Your Order reference number is: ************************
Please quote this on any correspondence.

All orders are subject to stock availability and meeting our terms and conditions

so upon ordering when u have used a code, they are not supposed to dispatch any order unless they have checked you have met the t&c,s . so in all fairness although they say if your not entitled to use the voucher unless it was given to you and they are entitled to reclaim the money!!!!!, but also they arent doing there job properly if there not checking to see if you have met the t&c's of the order before sending it to you.

i think i may have a point

that would depend on the beaks view of 'unfair'

and i am happy to be educated and proven wrong where applicable - every day is a school day as they say

it would be their obligation to check the codes were valid to you BEFORE applying the discount ie at the time of taking payment/refunding voucher price

i mean heck if i suddenly decided that my water rates were more than i wanted to pay i couldnt demand the money back and neither can they!!! :-)

another one missing the point

if its in the terms and conditions that you agree to by purchasing the item and using the code then legally they are entitled to act as per the terms and conditions!

i didnt miss any point, yes they have terms and conditions BUT that doesnt give them free reign to go round collecting money as and when their profit/loss sheets dont look good
