I always use codes....have had no problems yet....how'd u manage to get a DS Lite for £7.10 :?

Just use them, people like to post scare stories, and provide a link to a BBC story that proves nothing.

Some HUKD'ers set up an elaborate and foolish plan to get their money back that was not needed as the law protects you anyway.

Use voucher and enjoy. :)

Ive been using them for years now, i cant remember if it was littlewoods or debenhams but i used two discount codes a few weeks apart to buy some holiday gear and although it said the discount was taken off at the checkout, the whole amount came out of my account. When i rang them with the code to complain, they asked if i got it off a leaflet so i said yes and they asked for a number at the bottom. I lied n sed id chucked it in the bin and they went on about some places posting discount codes that arn't meant for everyone to have money off blah blah blah. i acted like i didnt know what they were on about but in the end i just paid the full amount as you cant get away with it every time!!

I didn't. It was a risk that I took though. Parachuting, paintballing, sleeping without on socks on.

I'm an adrenaline junkie. :)

I order a tv with them using a code which gave me 20% reduction. The sent an email confirming this reduction. Tv was sent to me and i opened it and discarded the packaging without looking sales sheet. They had removed the 20% reduction without any notification, basically just at delivery. I phoned customer services but no joy, they basically just kept reading out their terms and conditions. As i had also disgarded the packaging i couldn't just return it either.
I wouldn't use any of the littlwoods (and the other catalogue companies they run) vouchers ever again.

The law protects you, you simply have to apply it, their terms and conditions are worth the paper they are written on(3-4p).

You don't need the packaging either. Consumers need to learn about their rights before making purchases. :)

What is the law then?
If they send a confirmation email is that price guaranteed?

I read the arcticle from bbc saying that "Trading Standards in Liverpool had been informed and were "satisfied" with their actions" and this was when littlewoods asked for £25 back after sending the products out. So thought i didn't have much of a chance.

I honestly can't go into it all now, but forget reading BBC stories, and read www.consumerdirect.gov.uk and the like.

You saw a price, paid for it, and they delivered. They can't unilaterally change this in UK law.

You had a contract, they broke it.
