Hello,

Placed an order for Samsung J600 on littlewoods.com and use the discount code bringing it to £39

Today I went to pay it off and it showed the promotion has been cancelled.

I phoned up just now they said it shows on your account that your not eligible

Dont you think this is just wrong they should tell the consumer when purchasing the product

They said that department will phone you back on Monday when its open


Im going to say to them i got it by email or magizine

Why are they so stupid/

They keep records of who they have sent what code via email - so better to say its from a leaflet

which code did you use? the £25 one has been cancelled for everyone

Chill, just because your scam didn't work, there is no need to slag the Company off.
You tried to use a voucher that was not passed on to you by them, it didn't work, move on and try again.

Best thing to do is return the product and you will get your money back

I know of at least two Littlewoods employee's that have posted on HUKD, they tell lies and spread corporate propaganda. :thumbsup:

Which makes you wonder why Littlewoods codes and deals are allowed on HUKD. It seems to be the norm for orders to be accepted, goods sent out and a note a month or so later saying By the way - we've changed our mind on the order we accepted. Please pay us another £25.

Hardly the way to run a business. Its a shame we dont have "kill files" available so we can chose to exclude threads with the name "Littlewoods" appearing. I for one would gladly use it.

littlewoods didn't even send me my item, they simply put on my statement that it had been delivered and then returned, I didn't even see it...

This happened to me, IF the vouchers are accepted when purchased they have to be honoured. I spent ages on the phone the other day with littlewoods regarding this. They reinstated my voucher code. Result.Watch them mind, they will try it on. Just be firm.

I agree, la redoute are the same. I mentioned a while ago that they were investigating vouchers posted on sites like this, and knew who had been issued which vouchers. But nothing was done about it, people still post la redoute offers and people are still having big problems with the company!

WRONG.

While they can be a bonus, to use that excuse as a reason to mislead customers is false advertising, misuse of the merchant banking services they use and so ILLEGAL.

If someone orders something, gets told that their card will be charged XX but gets charged YY:[LIST]
[*]before delivery without e-mailing, that's illegal IMHO, lack of notification of the change of contract details which that deal entails
[*]before delivery after e-mailing, perfectly acceptable so long as long as their is time to cancel the order if wanted
[*]after delivery without e-mailing, illegal IMHO, forcing a product on someone, to pay a price they did not want and the bother of having to send it back
[*]after delivery with e-mailing, illegal IMHO, and arrogant to boot, see above.[/LIST]

I do hate it when companys do things like that, any site with a decent webmastering team can set it up so that you physically cannot use a code if they don't want you to (tesco, for example), it's not hard to do...so it bugs me that because they are lazy/poorly organised you get screwed over. But I do agree with others who say....get over it....if you use a code you randomly find online, with no ideas of who it was meant for or it's terms/conditions etc you can't really complain when it goes belly up.

MAYBE because (although his post above wasn't really called for) Sy along with a number of other members don't want to walk away from people that need help(you might say he's complaining a lot but you can't fail to credit the help he's been to people) & the 'friends' they've made here but are tired of repeating the same things for advice to be ignored??!?
(You been a member long enough to see Dino post over & over again because people haven't listened to a thread from the week before or haven't done any 'research')

Bottom line on this thread...if you don't know what you're doing, then don't do it!!?! If you don't know the origins of voucher codes then you don't know the terms & conditions attached, so you can't really complain if they are not validated for you can you?
Yes it would be great if E-tailers' systems meant that as you checkout it gives a definative yes or no to acceptance of codes but they frequently don't & anyone who's ever had an order 'overturned' due to mis-pricing or voucher abuse knows that 'net shopping law is so ridiculously biased against the buyer that E-tailers can operate safe in the knowledge that can get away with almost anything.
