contacted cs who wrote me an email saying the voucher wasnt valid, asked for them to cancel my order and refund me straight away, this was friday, still no refund, how long should i wait?

i would contact their CS again and tell them that they are not allowed to charge more than agreed and that unless they honour the original invoice you will contact the authorites. forget the refund go for the original offer, its their systems at fault for takng and confirming the order in the first place

i would never of agreed to them taking £43.95 from my card,i didnt think they were allowed to take more than you agreed to,the order invoice email states total £13.95 so was rather shocked to see they had taken out the full amount

This happens a lot ,

by law your not allowed to take more than an invoice states but catalogues dont seem to notice this

it can take up to 14 days for a refund from a catalogue
#4
Yep, it took them about 5 days to refund me (admittedly only £3.95)

However, surely in this day and age they could sort it out and charge you right amount straight off.

I have sent them another snotty email stating that i only agreed to the invoiced amount of £13.95,most banks are in the fast payments scheme now so i cant see why i cant get an immediate refund

they're not allowed to. contact CS ask for manager and tell them they've broken the law by charging more than the agreed invoice. threaten and you'll get it for the original price

what was the voucher code please?

Actually they can.....

According to their T&C's they take FULL amount...then refund the £30

Its clever but dishonest cause it means you have agreed to them taking full amount...which they then choose to give back or not....

If they charged one amount THEN took the rest it would be illegal....its not illegal its just ridiculously dishonest

but odb their email states....
Thanks for your email regarding your order.

I can confirm that your account is a Cash with Order account and therefore are not eligible for promotional discount codes.

I have now cancelled the order for you and requested our Refund Team to refund your card.

I do apologise for the confusion caused.

Thats only saying your not eligible to use that promotional code as its only for credit accounts...still they can take the money off you...

The way Littlewoods work is they take the FULL amount...then refund back to you...

they invoice you the reduced amount...until your item turns up with FULL invoice....

you wait to get money back..they decide your not eligible

you wait 28 days for 2nd invoice to find out you have ben charged full amount

you ring up they say TOUGH...its outside of 14 day return period so they screw you...
#12
wont be shopping with them again lol i just want my money back NOW!
#13
I think its because your order was under £60, i did it and paid cash and that worked and then my friend did the same, they took the discount off and then added the £30 back on and deducted the whole amount, after we emailed them, they said they would add the £30 discount to his statement because before we noticed he had already ordered some more stuff and opened a account
#14
it wasnt it was £60 but the items were on 3 for the price of 2 £20 each which made the £60 then the 3 for 2 offer deducted £20 and then the £30 voucher and £3.95 discount made it £13.95

the 3 for 2 offer would probably cancel it out in 1 of 2 ways either the order was under 60 quid because the third of the 342 is not charged for making the original amount under 60

or

the voucher is not valid on already discounted items

sounds silly but thats how a lot of the inhouse systems work and unless you complain they get away with it. persevere and you will come up trumps

pain in the butt tho, i heard this mentioned many times in this forum and i wont be using them

voucher was probably invalid because you used 3 for 2 (my mate done this ) and they said voucher was invalid because she had the 3 for 2

if using 3 for 2 makes the offer invalid they shouldnt really accept the code at checkout, ahh well lesson learnt

i was rang by additions with this offer but was too busy to talk to them so they offered to ring me back i then said that i hadn't looked on line yet but would over the weekend so they offered to ring me back on the monday - they rang me and confirmed the £30 discount to me - i knew i had ordered enough and they told me how much it would come to - i knew i had just about enough to cover the cost on my credit card so authorised them to take the £ 50.50 next thing i know i received a letter stating i hadnt used the £ 30 voucher after opening an account and if i wanted to place an order to ring them - so i rang them and said that a few days previous i had placed an order next thing i know im receiving a letter from them saying my card hadnt been authrosied for £ 80.50 i rang them and asked why they were trying to take £ 80 when it was only £ 50 and was told i wasnt entitled to the discount - i went off at them in no uncertain terms and said that i had not authorised £ 80 and they had no right to try and take it (im glad now that i hadnt paid my current bill or else they would have had 30 quid extra out of me) i then sent a really snotty email to them about being rung up 3 times and that id received a letter about the discount but the fact that they tried to take money from me that wasnt authorsied and harrassed me to make an order i felt their company was very unproffesional and glad that i didnt buy the items - they replied with that they were sorry and that i was entitled to the discount that there must have been an error on their part and that if i wanted to i could ring them up and place the order and they would only charge me the £ 50.50 as originally agreed - i told them that i had no intention of dealing with them but was pleased that htey actually admitted they shouldnt have tried to take £ 80 without my authotisation - stay away from additions lol

T&Cs are a contractual term, Distance Selling Act is law. Law overrules term. It is not legal to charge more than an agreed amount.

This always makes me laugh about the site.

Can't post a Boffer 'freebie' in case they scam you out of your layout of £0 but people can consistenly post Littlewoods codes that stipulate they are for that individuals use only and people have had constant problems with them for over a year now.

I guess at the end of the day the click through pennies rule the way.

Yeah, same as how Pixmania, a French company with an appalling record for illegal behavior, continue to be allowed while e*ay you're banned from even linking to.

Its not illegal though...your effectively signing a contract saying they can take that amount...then they choose what you can or cant have back...

thats why the TS wont do them for it....

there was an article linked on the recent Littlewoods £30 off thread
