Just wanting a quick chat.

My question:

Can you genuinely see you going any further with Benitez?

All joking aside, there was not one player in the Liverpool team today that would probably get in to any of the other "big 3".

Average players like El Zhar, Ngog, Lucas, Insua are not the players you need when wanting to win trophies. Carragher is 3 seasons past his best and is a liability.

With Torres out you just look incredibly average.

No is the answer.

You want Benitez out?
#3
No, hes a great manager, but hes not going to win us the league, he should manage an international team
#4
My concern is more with the owners than Benitez, the thing I ask myself is who would do a better job, and more importantly would they want the job with the current owners in charge??

He has had ample opportunity to assemble a team full of international players. You have to question his ability as an all round manager. Tactician, maybe.
#6
Gerrard would walk into Man U, as would Johnson.

Liverpool were so good at the end of last season, so Benitez has it in him to do it, so i don't know. 4 points behind Man U from a team who hasn't genuinely challenged for many a year is a big step. For some reason it's all gone to pot this season.

Benitez is the one who has the say as to who he buys in the transfer markets. Apart from Torres he has signed some incredibly bad players and the good players that he has bought he has let them go. You cannot do that if you want to win everything you are competing in.

That was my concern when Ronaldo left. Just so happens that all the other teams are having "blips" themselves.
#8
hes took them as far as he can, they need a fresh injection

I am not so sure. They need to strengthen but I dont think those players suit Manchester United.

Only reason I can think of is that Torres is injured and they sold Alonso.

The thing is we finished second last year, with a bit more luck/ taken opportunities (the two Stoke games spring to mind) we may have won the league, the problem is we have no-where near the depth of squad.
I was gutted we sold Alonso
#11
Benitez has lost it he said today that we are improving ......... well a 0-0 draw against blackburn aint good.

2005 is a long time ago and I think he should go but I have been saying that for 2 years

reasons

poor buys
poor tactics
stubborn
concentrates on europe instead of league
generally does my head in

the onl problem is it will cost us 20 million to get rid but how much will it cost us not qualifiing for champions league next year

As Alex Ferguson knows too well, if Madrid come knocking there isnt much a team can do.
Was strange as 8 months prior to the sale of Ronaldo, Ferguson said that he wouldnt sell Madrid a virus!! Quite the opposite, he sold to them the best player in the world!

You need to sign some better players.

Voronin? Awful signing. You should have looked after Crouch a bit better. At least he scored goals after playing regularly.
#14
another LFC fan who thinks benitez should stay, & its the owners who need to go.
sure Benitez has signed some carthorses, but those carthorses looked like thoroughbreds.
any premiership manager would have gone for keane and look how bad he played

he signs too many spaniards, a biased purchaser!

Fair comment, the thing I ask myself is who would take over at Liverpool, some may say it's a great opportunity to revive a prestigious club, but I am still skeptical as to the backing the owners are giving, my personal view is they bought into Liverpool for the name and brand it brings, they are businessmen first and foremost and they wanted the kudos of owning one of the biggest names in football.
How do you as a United fan feel about the Glaziers?

Ok. What about:

El Zhar
Voronin
Dossena
Insua
Ngog
Lucas

No manager wanting to win the league would have bought ANY of the above players!!

It was Madrid or Liverpool for Heinze...

Another player I didn't want to see go, he may not look the part but as you say he put the ball in the net often enough to justify the place, I would like to have seen him with Torres more

When they first took over the club I was worried, as were most Manchester United fans.

Now we look where we are...3 Premier League titles in the last 3 years. 2 Champions League finals and one win.

Sir Alex still seems to be able to spend if need be.

The Glaziers must know how to run a business and they seem to be doing it so well.

Also, they are never in the news for anything detrimental to the club. Unlike the Liverpool owners or Thaksin when he was at City!

I have a lot of time for Peter Crouch. Such a great professional and a good player. I hope he makes the England team.

And that where Hicks and Gillette don't seem to, they have borrowed to the hilt to fund their purchase, and they don't want to sell (at least thats how it seems).
I worry that the youth we have in the squad are not premier league qualityfor the majority, which means we need to spend massively. We have no cover up front for time when Torres is out, thtas why we get nil nil draws against blackburn!

That is a huge problem. You really need to spend big and you need to spend big at a time where transfer prices are incredibly inflated.

Manchester United should table £60m for Torres :p

If he does nothing all season then I will happily take his goal against City.

He will be key to winning the Carling Cup and will play in the FA Cup. The type of player Liverpool need.
[mod]#29
If he's replaced with someone like Mourinho then great..........if it's Klinnsman then forget it.

Carragher
Aurelio
Riera
Mascherano
Gerrard

Torres

Liverpool team v Blackburn today
Reina
Johnson
Carragher
Agger
Insua
Mascherano
