Wind up comments will be deleted - i want to hear views of true die hard fans and grassroot fans.

OK.....so with all the going on's this week with rafa leaving (thanks for istanbul) but the time was right, which manager can you see realistically coming in doing a budget on a limited budget and getting the most out of the squad?

also if we where to sell mash, torres, gerro how much would be expected revenue in and how could we use the money to strengten the squad in weaker areas? any realistic targets??? LB is required and out and out wide man ..... J cole? Di Maria? Turan?

with rio being injured, can we justify that carra should know partner Terry in central defence next week? - personally as much as carra is a legend i must confess that King when fully fit is certainly the stronger... your views?

Which youngsters coming through the academy can we expect an impact from next season? surely nemeth and ecclington need to be given a opportunity?

what dead wood needs to be removed? lucas, kuyt, insua, riera, ngog - surely all are not top tier players??

realistic team for next season on a budget of say 15-20mill?

next season targets? champs league? Fa Cup? Europa Cup? Dare i say Survival?

YNWA

thoughts??

Carragher is an accident waiting to happen. Complete donkey.

I can see a "Phil Neville vs Romania" on the horizon if he plays.

the football is not attractive enough - route one, we have had years of that with rafa.

somebody like L.Van Gal would be ideal?

do we have budget? not sure

new owners maybe....

team for next season realsitically would be

Gk - Reina

Lb - Agger

Cb - Carra

Cb - Skrtil

Rb - Johnson

Rm - Wilcott

Cm - Gerrard

Cm - Ireland

Lm - Babel

St - Torres

St - Hunteleer

Sell - Mach, lucas, Kuyt, Ngog to fund it

Wilcott? I assume you mean Walcott.

That team would not win you the league.

No, you cannot doubt his commitment but you can doubt his ability.

He is a liability.

i think its a case of lowering our expectations slightly and start from working from academy upwards

Liability harsh words:

is not rooney a liability with his temper?

lampard? with his poor penalities?

james? need a say more?

cole? relationship troubles?

etc etc

Sell Masch? You having a laugh, without him we'd of done alot worse this season.

Most the manager's which are being touted just don't have the experience that you want at Liverpool. I'm sorry to see Rafa go, one bad season and everyone called for it, shows what football is about these days.

maxi - in the argie sqaud first 11

babel - still young and in hollands first 11

Just some tips for the OP....

1) James Corden
2) Don't make deletion threats - a) you don't decide, b) it makes you look daft
3) Genuine question - Are you saying only Liverpool fans are true football fans?

Rooney isnt a liability, no. He has matured but still gets his moments.

Lampard. He scores more than he misses.

Capello is going to name him as his first choice keeper. That is enough.

That hardly impacts on his footballing ability.

Carragher is a liability. Puts in stupid tackles at the wrong time and is just slow. I bet other teams will be licking their lips at the prospect of a foot race with Terry, King or Carragher.

Masch will be next out of the door imo. He was after a move to Barca last summer, then has had a moan about his wife not settling in England, and now is trying to get a move to Inter. If he doesn't want to play for the club, he just needs to make sure the door doesn't hit him on the way out. Same goes for Torres and Gerrard.

I agree about Rafa - one bad season shouldn't lose you your job, but nowadays in the times of foreign owners who only care about the money, they want instant results. I wish him all the best at Inter where I'm sure he'll do well. As for manager...... Hodgson, Van Gaal, Rijkaard, or even King Kenny (short-term) would do for me.

i think its not a case of one bad season, it was is lack of emotion he used when we play. we lost the dressing room

selling alonso and arebola was a right mess, had we kept those two intact we would have finished in top 3...not to mention his man management skills.... he just doesnt get the best out of players?

keane?
Bellamy?
Crouch?
Morintes (spelling)?
Cisse?
Baros?

Surely these are better back up support forwards then ngog?

also in his 6 years name one youth player to have made a real impact?

compare with utd - gibson, Wallbeck, the italian kid, rafeal etc etc
arsenal - denilson, diaby, song, vela, wiltshire, ramsey etc etc

Phil Brown would be a great shout for manager - managed to help Hull avoid relegation last season and he's available.

Maybe Bryan Robson who did the same with West Brom.

^^^^ This.

I think realistically you'd have to shift half your squad to make any decent signings. Unless you sell the four players you have that are world class.

Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano and Reina.

You'll be lucky to get many takers for the rest, although West Ham want to splash some cash.

For what reason?

id say roy hodgson would make a great liverpool manager, but im not sure if all the tv/paper talk is just hype. But i do think he is a TOP manager who is overlooked, even harry would of done well but he already at a better club (sorry had to have a little dig lol) but seriously the BIGGEST problem with liverpool i think is there hyped up year after year on there club history yes they are a good club and yes they could win things but they cant take 4th place for granted anymore as this season shows

hodgeson is a short term fix - one season?

not proven at the highest level and done a awfuljob at blackburn with money to burn
#34
Problem is, if we're going on CV's, then Sven Goran Ericsson beats O'Neil and Hodgson hands down, other rumours are Mark Hughes, which i hope not, and David Moyes, which could be interesting.

Apart from successful spells at Inter Milan, making Switzerland a half-decent team in the mid-90s and doing a good job with Finland and Fulham. He's well respected throoughout Europe and gets teams playing good football.

Or you could go for a Croatian with no experience of domestic/european football.
