My OH playstaton account has been hacked. He had a email saying the user account had been changed , he didn't check emails for a day or two so he contacted playstation to say it wasn't him. They said they would get back to him in 2 days and try and change the settings back. 3 days later i checked our online banking to see 3 transactions had taken place for £10, £20 and £30 though playstation. So we contacted them and they are saying there is no way anyone can access the account without us giving them the password , which there no way on earth we have .. i don't even know it! So they won't refund us. We have cancelled the card with the bank and they are looking into it but is there any thing else we can do? Sorry if it doesn't make sense, i'm just So angry.

that's why I refuse to put my details on Live.

Happened to one of my younger friends had his mums credit card details on it to buy points and they hacked it and ran up a bill of 780 i think it was.
Yep, i delete mine and only input when processing a payment then delete them again. Not sure what you can do but hope it gets sorted for you.
Playstaions stance is it can't be hacked you've given your details out , which we have not!
has he gone on any unofficial playstation websites? i know to log in to it uses your ps3 details, maybe he clicked on a wrong link or something or tried logging into a different site using his ps3 details.

or is this the only ps3 you have ever owned or has he had a previous one that had YLOD or the kind, sold it on for it then to have been fixed and the account been saved meaning the new owner could access it.
No we have only ever had the one we have got now, OH does't use it often only for a bit of Fifa or COD. My son has a kids account attached? but that has a Zero limit on it . We can see what has been brought it's about 25 really cheap games. Playstation just say our bank has to investigate, it's really passing the buck.
sony probably think you tried to gameshare from the way they say you must have given someone the password.
sony will be pretty firm with the stance they are giving because the psn is pretty secure, the attached kids account wont have anything to do with it if it has a zero limit. only thing i can think of is reporting to the police and getting them to ask sony where the stuff was downloaded from, since the stuff will have been downloaded on a console it would have its own mac address and sony could tell them where in the world it was downloaded from
I'd contact Trading Standards and see what they say on the matter. Besides that, I believe there's a guy called magicjay1986 around here who has a reputation for being very well informed on consumer matters. Don't quote me on that though!
My OH said that to them that they must know the IP address and consol that downloaded them and that if we get the police involed will they give it to them. Sony said we have to go through the bank and that they will investigate it and get the police involved if need be.
How do Sony know the account has been hacked?

In future, buy Playstation network cards which apart from being secure from further purchases, are also cheaper than putting your card details in to make purchases.
Well if we haven't spent the money, then it must of been hacked some how?? They changed the email address to some really random one. Thats a good idea about the network card, tbh we don't buy much on it i think the last thing we brought was some music add ons for rock band at christmas time. The card details had been removed when OH looked, but we have cancelled that card now anyway. It's the first time something like this has happened, i didn't reilize how had it is to prove your inocent.

Sony providing top notch customer service once again.
