The interest rate on Lloyds Bank flagship Club Lloyds account is to be halved from 4% to 2% in January. The bank blamed "changing market conditions" for the decision. Club Lloyds, which currently pays 4% on balances between £4,000 and £5,000, will pay just 2% from January 2017 on savings between £1 and £5,000.

Well that's my profit from the recent Virgin money bank transfer credit card deal gone then :(

They'll likely advertise the monthly fee drop quite heavily as well to mask the drop, although I imagine that the significant majority of users don't actually pay for it (like I don't).

May just move my stash into NS&I premium bonds ( http://www.nsandi.com/premium-bonds ) at this point with dire rates and no interest in investing for now.

Santander 123 cut their 3% interest to 1.5% too. Up to £20K.

TSB interest drops from 5% to 3% too from Jan 1 /17 and only on £1,500 down from £2,000.

Santander 123 cut their 3% interest to 1.5% too. Up to 22.16€ (£20)K.
After raising the monthly fee from £2 to £5.
