Loan Scam?? Got a txt from YesLoansUK.com

I received the following txt:

Hi ****, we've received your loan enquiry. Please call YesLoansUK.com now on 08451309521 or reply YES for a callback. txtSTOP2optout

I rang them back and dealt with a guy called 'Nasir'. He went ahead to apply for an unsecured loan for £6000. After a few personal questions he claimed it went through all ok and then demanded £69 BEFORE he sent the paper work out to me ???

On the basis that I did not apply for a loan in the past, I randomly got this txt and eventhough it seems Legit, the £69 fee put me off.

Anyone have an insight in this?

they are a loan BROKER,not a lender and there have been thousands of complaints about them-they "approve" everyone, take the arrangement fee and then very few people actually get the loan and they keep the cash.

been on watchdog many times,in the papers etc etc-NO legitimate finance company needs any up front fee-steer clear.

LOL at this:-D
You DIDN'T apply for a loan, but your application was approved.
They will lend you money, but only AFTER you give THEM money?!?!?

Let me get this straight - you didn't apply for a loan, and yet you received a text saying that some random company have received your loan application. You then call this random company and apply for a loan anyway, giving them god knows what personal details in the process. Then they want some money upfront before they send you the actual loan.

You don't see anything out of the ordinary with any of this??

incidentally,if you gave them your credit card detail or bank account number they will probably take the 69 quid anyway-they have done that many times.

As soon as he requested my bank details I became suspicious and I said I had to go. As barky stated above, they are a broker, so I assumed everything was legitimate.

But I did not sign for anything? To be honest I think the guy was just trying to get my money because a few times he said 'I understand but I cannot go ahead with any loan 'search' before the £69 fees are paid'.. but then he also said 'You have been accepted for the loan, please pay £69 ...blah blah'.. :whistling:

Bumping this to highlight the stupidity again...................

If he has carried out a credit search and you have been approved you have the £6k on your credit file. It will sit there for a period of time whilst they realise that the forms were not signed and sent back and the money wasn't physically paid out.

In the mean time your credit-worthiness (if you had any) has taken a £6k bath
