Logitech 515 remote and av sender

Evening.

I have just bought a logitech 515 remote and managed to get it set up ok with my tv, sky, surround sound and squeezebox boom.

The problem is I have a tv upstairs and an av sender/receiver sending my sky signal upstairs. I have a separate sky remote upstairs to control the tv/sky but since using the logitech downstairs, the remote upstairs has stopped working. It turns the tv on but won't change channels via the sender/receiver.

Could this be due to the logitech remote at all?
Any assistance much appreciated.

Thanks

Do you change the channel from upstairs via the av sender, a sky link or another device?

Also, if you take the sky remote downstairs & try to use it to change a sky channel what happens?

I change the channel with a separate sky remote to the old one downstairs via the av sender/receiver

the remote works fine downstairs.

When you switch the remote to Sky only it doesn't change the channel?

You would need to set up two separate activities, one activity for upstairs TV and one for down.

Have you tried turning the power off & on for the av sender/receiver at both ends and checked if the logitech remote works if you take it upstairs & try changing the channel?

The upstairs sky remote is not programmed to the logitech one. It is totally separate. I don't understand why I would need to programme the logitech remote to the upstairs remote as won't be using it upstairs.

You could set up the remote on the computer to recognise the remote commands (learn commands) you use for the AV sender now. Sky remotes are all the same...??

a Sky+ is the same as a Sky+
SkyHD is the same as skyHD???

Logitech remote does not work upstairs as did not programme it to work upstairs. Av sender and receiver both been switched off and still the upstairs sky remote will only turn upstairs tv on/off but will not change channels.

I want to keep logitech remote downstairs and use my sky one upstairs. The downstairs remote is sky plus HD and upstairs is sky plus remote

just re read your OP, your old remote is broke

no way would the logitech stop it working, one question though why do you have an AV sender when you could have just got a magic eye?

Did the sky remote upstairs use to change the channels? Do you need to program the TV code back into it or press TV to set it to change the TV channels or are you trying to change the sky channels?

I was asking about using the logitech remote upstairs to see if the av sender/receiver would forward the signals for changing the sky channels. Trying to work out which device is causing the problem.

What is the make/model of the av sender/receiver?

Not broke as it still works downstairs and turns tv off/on upstairs!

Logitech remote not programmed for upstairs and tried but does not change channels upstairs. The av sender is a ferguson wireless av link.

No cable and no magic eye. Never had a problem with av sender until this evening so never needed to get anything else lol.

Sky remote changed sky channels upstairs up until tonight!

What do you mean when you say the logitech remote isn't programmed for upstairs? Does the upstairs av sender/receiver not just forward whatever remote signal you're sending to it down to the other unit and on to your sky box?

I'm lost and I'm out

I have 2 sky remotes one for living room and one for tv in bedroom. The logitech was programmed to the sky plus HD remote from living room and not the separate upstairs remote. I want to keep
logitech for downstairs devices and continue to use my sky remote upstairs

Yes but testing whether you can change the sky channel from upstairs using the logitech remote will tell you whether the av sender/receiver is accepting any remote signals or none.

We're not on the same wave length. Can you use the old sky remote upstairs? Can you get a seperate Remote extender/sender?

Sorry Hun! I have only programmed logitech with downstairs remote, at present it does not work upstairs so may need to programme it tomorrow eve. The old sky remote does not work upstairs either. I think I may need a new av sender device! Lol x

I might be barking up the wrong tree and Im not sure if its already been said but on your AV sender is there a little extra cable that broadcasts the remote signal to the box downstairs? I vaguely remember on an old one I had we had a little velcro bit that stuck infront of the remote sensor on the box downstairs to pass the signal on to it.
