My favourite bit is in the comments

My 14 yr old daughter did 13,456 (total sent and received) the first month she had her phone. I had signed up for a family plan w/2100 minutes (5 phones) and unlimited text. I expected her to use the majority of the minutes. In reality, she used only 128! All of her communication is via text. She can text with one hand and do homework with the other. I've never seen anything like it. To be fair, she's not writing War and Peace with each text. Most are 1 - 2 words. Makes me seriously wonder about the devolution of human communication. I no longer have a 2100 minute plan...

My eldest has 150 mins and 300 texts, but unlimited text on evening and weekends, she never uses her 150 mins, but always uses almost all her text allowance and then batters the unlimited text option, her argument is that she is getting value for her money by using as much as she can :)

trouble is people dont realise unlimited text messages are capped, and thats why people end up with massive bills

I made sure she realised that there is no such thing as true unlimited and in fairness she has never gone over that line. I am always trying to teach her about spending and such, she regularly goes shopping with her mates and comes back amazed at how much they have spent that they could have bought cheaper elsewhere, she keeps telling them to use HotUKDeals and Quidco. :-D
She convinced her friends dad last week to let me organise a new mobile contract for her friend cos her bills were so high. :)

Most I ever did was back when I was 21 and working and went drinking with friends every weekend and had a few girls flirt with me, id easily do 100-500 a month but these days I do about 10-20 a month would do more but my free quota is now calls not texts as I talk more.

I wasn't shocked or impressed by that article, seeing the number of girls who seem to be able to send up to 1k texts a day is rising it appears o.O I know of at least 2 girls (one is 15/16 the other 18 I think) who text an obscene amount.

Frankly, I think my few hundred to the girlfriend is sufficient per month :P My 02 numbers, 1000 texts a month for a fiver. Can't beat it with a big stick.

My wife was on a monthly contract with O2 - 300 minutes and 1000 texts a month. She got her bill summary and had used 34 minutes and sent 6 texts - what a waste. :-)
