Looking to see if anyone else has experienced what I have been experiencing for some time...
Before anyone looks into this and thinks of the old 'Go to a Doctor, not a Forum', I am in consultation and tests with a Cardiologist. This is just to see what other people may have experienced.
If you're not interested, don't bother reading on...
Back Story: I have suffered with Palpitations since I was 18 (now 30). It was sporadic in the beginning and didn't happen often, maybe until the age of 24 or 25, which is when it started becoming more regular.
Went to the Docs, got referred. Wore a 24hr Heart Monitor and was told after this that something was caught on the Monitor, but it was not significant. Being a bit naive, I took that and left it at that (with not having many re-occurances).
5 Years on, it's come back with a vengeance. I get Palpitations on a very regular basis. Back to the Docs and they referred me back to Cardiology.
I was told that they caught something which was significant on my first monitor. My heart rate whilst resting would go to 120+ bpm and when I was sleeping, it went down to 37 bpm.
Long and short of it, this may be Sick Sinus Syndrome (an issue with the natural Pacemaker of the heart).
I've had another 24 hour monitor and will be getting the results on 25th Jan, so we'll see what that caught.
Now, what I'm wondering is if anyone has had a similar issue and what symptoms they experienced.
The palpitations this time around are different, as I also have a strange 'fluttering' feeling in my chest, which is constantly there even if the palpitations are not.
Anyone else had this? If so, what did you do to lessen the effects?
