I honestly dont think he would/could do with the guilt if the electric went down just thinking of the effect on people.....a couple of long nights from him or 100's (maybe more) of people in the cold and not enjoyin xmas...or worse :x

I sincerely applaud his dedication and his thoughtfulness for customers but a 30 hour shift, then a 2 hour break and back again MUST impair his ability to think clearly-working with electricity it maybe isnt the best idea tbh. Not having a go-he is obviously a man who takes pride in his work but it all sounds a bit unsafe to me.

I thought it'd be more dangerous too.

Must be getting a LOT of extra pennies for it .

yup it does to me too.....infact a few of his workmates have died recently just on normal jobs :( they work in pairs, eg one turns off the electric and the other does the work....then the electric gets turned back on...so you can see where the problem is :x

Not sure but I dont think this work is very high danger, I THINK its just a case of rebuilding a dead transformer....so I think its completely disconnected while theyre working on it.....Got to admit its very worrying though

I suppose it kinda annoys me how he (and a few others) will do things like this and not get any thanks in return, I mean obviously the individual people have no idea but nothing from the company neither, at the end of the day they are saving the company a hell of a lot of hassle and theyre just 'expected' to do it really....

Can you ask him, What is the main cause of them blowing up?
Ours went a couple of days ago and I always wondered what caused them to go wrong.
Is it bad / lazy workmanship?
Is it old age and parts wear out?
Or is it something else?
Really curious / nosey.

ermmm hes in bed at the moment, he told me a bit about it but I dont think he said why....one of them broke as a result of a waterpipe thing blowing, that flooded the sub and broke it.....as for the other (the one he has been working on most) he just said it had blown up....and said the people who supply/fit each part are blaming each other for the fault....so I guess from that it means its faulty parts somewhere but no-one will accept its 'their part'....although could be wrong....he said he left some guys 'measuring up for the wires' so I guess they are getting replaced lol
How do you know yours went? people generally dont know as the backup transformer usually covers it til its fixed....

Have your mum and dad been arguing a lot lately?

nope but she wasnt impressed when he left it til 6am to let her know he was working through :p
