Basicly I got a limit of around £500 or less including delivery...

I want either a Dual-Core or Quad-Core Intel CPU, 2gb of ram or more, atleast a 17" monitor, A ok graphics card, and the hard drive size doesnt matter...

Best I can find is....

http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=uk&fb=1&l=en&oc=D034004&s=dhs

Intel® Core 2 Quad-Core Q6600 processor (2.40GHz, 1066 MHz, 8MB cache)
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
Dell 19" Value Wide Flat Panel (E198WFP)
2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]
250GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive with 8MB DataBurst cache
128MB ATI® Radeon HD 2400 Pro graphics card
16x DVD +/- RW Drive

Total in basket: £482.93

Can anyone find any deals better than this? Thanks in advance people.

Think you are better off with Dell reference D034006 - seems to be the same as your deal + Vista Business for £433...

My auntie bought a desktop from dell in january, it's her first pc and she is new to computers etc...helped her setup user accounts and bits and bobs last week, she bought a printer and wanted me to connect etc, now the pc turns on, we have power to the base, power to the screen, but the base unit just beeps every 3 seconds and nothing loads !!!!!!

Phoned dell customer services and after being on hold for 20 mins twice, i eventually got through to someone who i could hardly understand a word she was saying, who asked me if i was in front of the pc, i said yes, she then said can you go and get a philips screwdriver and take the back off !!!!! What, how ridiculous is that, oh yeah, hang on i will go out into the shed, waste another 10 mins being on hold while you are charging me a ridiculous amount etc....then take my pc apart...i dont think so !!!

So, i said look, it either needs someone out asap or i want a new pc, after putting the pressure on she agreed for it to be collected today, which it was and to be sent a new pc next week.

So, my personal opinion of dell is extremely poor, terrible customer service and the pc didnt work the second time it was turned on !!!
A one off maybe but i doubt it !!!

She was probably just going to tell you to make sure all the cards and RAM where seated properly as they can become dislodged easily during transit, its more common than you probably think and would be the first thing I check if I received a PC that wouldnt boot! PC's are in the main designed for the end user to open them up and upgrade them!

Great deal and 2gb is more than enough anyway. Never used all the 2gb on my Vista business Dell and I have loads running at the same time (Divx converter/nero/word/excel/thunderbird/mozilla/explorer x4/utorrent/avg/commodo etc....
