I want to get my train mad son a train table for xmas as he loves his train and spend age playing with his tracks on the floor. Ive fell in love with the thomas one from elc but £220 is a bit too expensive :( Im looking to pay round the £100 mark. Also one that will be compatible with the thomas trains. Can anyone help give me a bit of info? :)

I think it is compatable. I don't think it would be cheaper to get a table and add the bits yourself , all the bits cost a fortune.

You will deprive your son of making his own track designs....which is half the fun.

ASDA used to do really cheap wooden sets. Dunno if they still do, but worth a look. I know when I was in the market for them, they were being punted out on ebay for 3 or 4 times the price.

That reminds me..... time to punt the kids thomas the tank trains out!

My son never designed the tracks, he made me do it !! Then would distroy it 10 mins after it had taken be half an hour to build. One disign must of been 2m x 3m i have a photo of it somewhere !

yes hun id go for the toys r us one its big though but looks nice. i had this debate when we got one years back. the elc one is alot smaller and compact and looks nice.

we had a plan city one in the end (same company as brio) it was blue and really sturdy you could get it with drawers too although ours didnt have any but they would be handy. very big though x Had a look on ebay but couldnt see it for sale. x
