i saw one in currys a while ago for £40 but cant seem to find one that comes anywhere close to that price. To be honest i dont even know where to start.. I want to record old home videos to recordable dvd basically but ive heard about ones with hard drive that you can record tv onto or somethin? also can you do dvd to dvd all non copyrighted obv? im so confused! thankyou!

You would be better getting one with a harddrive, this can be connected to cable or freeview box but if you only want to watch recordable freeview TV programmes think about buying a Humax box with freeview, this has a built in recorder and you can save programmes to your computer. the following links are only examples these items can be purchased cheaper elsewhere

thanks csiman did not read full script. Sorry mate but what you are looking for is impossible without paying out a lot of money. Tape to DVD very expensive

Not at all; VHS to DVD is cheap. Any standalone DVD recorder with Scart inputs will do the job, I do it all the time. I then edit the footage on my PC and reburn to another DVD. Simple.

what you need is a dual hard drive / dvd drive recorder that allows scart input to record from your vhs player. expect to pay about £80-£100

lots on this site recently.
