I'm sure you could get a cheaper system than that if you don't want a gaming machine.

IMO Pc World is more often than not, a complete urine take on their prices.

Maybe not as good as the one you posted, but I think this is a decent system. You would need to add an OS though.

Just wondering why you would want to buy from currys etc... In stead of some where like ebuyer or other online computer shops:

if you want a ok machine but not really needing it for gaming an want to maybe cut the price down you could try this but you would need to find a copy of windows from somewhere or pay for one.

Dell had a VERY similar machine like this for £419.99 (on their website)

The only difference is the processor. Theirs was the AMD.

Personally I would wait until after the 22nd anyway, because that is when windows 7 is due out.

There are bound to be a few deals knocking about when that is released. Assuming the above machine is loaded with Vista, I would honestly wait.

Vista is like having a Porsche and then putting an engine from a Fiesta in it. It will still work, but not how it should, and it will ultimately frustrate you

Lol, there is nothing wrong with Vista if you have enough ram to run it. The machines your'e looking at have 4 gig, so not even a slight problem.

I have a laptop with a dual core processor and 4gb of RAM and I still get problems with it! Boot times are unbelievably slow! i realise that a lot of that is to do with software I have installed too, but it is ridiculously slow.

Vista is a Marmite OS, and I HATE IT!! Luckily I pre ordered Windows 7 when it was cheap at Dixons. £44.99 I think
