Hi,

I've recently purchased a Canon MD110 camcorder from Littlewoods Direct £57 delivered, a bargain!
Have never had a camcorder before, was wanting to connect it to to my PC. Purchased the firewire cable (4 pin-6) realized when I recieved it, that I first need a PCI firewire card.
Couldn't figure out at first, thought I had purchased the wrong cable - thanks to the tutorials on You tube , it finally made sense.

So the question is where can I purchase good quality card at a reasonable price.

Thanks you in advance.

I've got a Belkin USB 2.0 / Firewire PCI card I'm not using and which has never been used. Private message me if you'd like to know more and I'll find the exact details for you. :)

Edit: it's this one: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=125578

Any PCI firewire card will do the job e.g. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/60573/

Why not use USB instead, it will have come with a way to get the film onto the PC.

Not sure what you mean. For a MiniDV video camera the only way (afaik) to transfer your videos to pc is using a firewire cable. USB is not compatible.
