  Are you exclusively sticking to Jo-burg area? It's just that there are some really good game reserves in the Eastern Cape and they're really cheap too! :)

  Oh ok. I'm not very clued up on Gauteng area. Lived in the Eastern Cape so went to a few there.

  You will love the garden route, stellenbosch ,knysna (whales from the cliff) and the best for me was swimming with penguins at boulders beach, simons town. relatives live at fish hoek.have a great time.

  I drove from Port Elizabeth to CT earlier this year, lot of things to see, as mentioned above.
  
  Not much to see in JNB/Gauteng, only went to Pretoria for a day to see Union buildings.

  Safari is now booked and also flights from JNB to PE.

  we stayed at friends house at PE, but for car hire I can recommend these people. We used them both in Namibia and SA and all good, even the price:
