I'm in the same position as you, with a slightly smaller budget. After much research i concluded that the Panasonic THPX80 is the best one for me, as i will only watch SD for a long time. Depends what sort of thing you watch though

hmm it will be just for sky (maybe HD in future) and blu ray.

These are pretty good
Toshiba XV range.

They are on offer in Sainsburys at £479 at the moment - Some bigger stores have them set up if you want to have a look - Can't find it any cheaper on line.

I got mine form Play and have been pretty pleased with it to date.

The new RV range is 100htz but I've been impressed with how the above handles sport and gaming etc. 1080P with 3 HDMI so should cover most requirements.

Quite an increase on £500...... a lot of options to you on that budget. The Sony W range is well spoken of too - There are a few deals posted on here for those - M&S were offering a few good deals with a 5yr warranty. Panasonic ones also tend to get rave reviews.

Try lookng up reviews on those of interest or look on the AV forums site as there is often useful comments and info there.

Both the one I mentioned above and the one you have listed are reviewed Here
