As above.

The car she has seen now is not near enough for us to take to our local garage so wondered if there is such a service that will come out to the car (in South London)
I am sure I remember the AA or RAC used to do it and they offered some kind of guarantee on the inspection, anyone know about it?

Thanks very much x

Thank you!

That's exactly what I was thinking of - couldnt find it

More pricey than we were expecting though, the car only costs £1500 - I wouldn't mind paying it on a more expensive car.

Anyone know anything cheaper?

One of the cheapest ways to have the working bits of a car ( as recommended by motoring journalists) looked at is to pay for it to go through the MoT test. If you hunt around these are £25 upwards, and you get a written report on it's condition.
Also try a local garage, pay for an hour's labour and they will look over the car for you. obviously you won't get a written report but it will be at least 1/3 of the price of the AA/RAC

Thanks, I was considering a local garage but would rather use the one I have used for years which is local to me, may have to go down this route though I guess
