Tower PC
Win XP Home Edition
80GB Hard drive
512MB Ram
Lite-on CD-RW drive
Sony DVD-Rom drive
AMD Athlon XP2000+ 1.26 GHZ
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 256MB Memory
Creative Audigy Platinum Sound Card with Remote control, all leads/cabels, software & Drivers, 5.1 surrond sound speakers
17" LG Flatron LCD 782LE Digital monitor with 2 USB ports on stand

Probable have most of the boxes in the loft but haven't checked yet. Am I better selling as a tower pc or selling off all the bits?

No offense taken, I was thinking in the region of £50 to £100 but just wanted advice before I went any further

I'd go with £50 but not less as it wouldn't be worth my while selling, might give it a try in the FS/FT section

Thanks to you both

As the others have said, it's not worth much. Depressingly, as is the case with these old systems, they don't retain value well, which is why you're often best buying and selling only current-gen and previous-gen parts. One thing to note though, that XP2000 CPU, it's not a 1.26GHz part. I think it's 1.66GHz, or possibly 1.73GHz. Check what CPU Z tells you to be sure, and make sure you have it set to the right FSB speed (133MHz, iirc). No point underselling by accident.

I was just going by what it says in system properties, I take it CPU Z is something I could download to check it?

Yup. It'll tell you what FSB you're running at too, which might be the cause of your 1.26GHz speed.

Its worth more than £50 if it has the xp license, especially with a monitor, the old athlon xp machines are still pretty good and are better than the celeron carp you would get for the £50-£100 mark on fleabay.. My server is an athlon xp 2800 and still runs everything i throw at it (except games of course...well, modern games that is..) and if you do decide to sell for £50 i will rip your arm off! :whistling:
