LOreal takes on eBay in court
French cosmetics group LOreal has initiated legal proceedings against eBay for allegedly selling counterfeit versions of its products online.
LOreal has started proceedings in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and the UK for failing to sufficiently police its site. Meanwhile, eBay says that it merely provides a trading platform and is not responsible for the authenticity of goods sold over the site.
In the past, companies such as LVMH have won rulings against the auction site, but eBay has also won several key victories such as a ruling from a courts in Brussels and the US.

It's about time Ebay were made to take responsibility for what IMO is down to them, they've escaped such situations for far too long!

EBay will remove the listed fakes, then charge L'Oreal removal fees, then hit them again a few weeks later with monthly account fees:giggle:
