i dont really want to reduce my food intake coz all im eating is my 3 meals granted that they could be healthier but im not eating in between
im 5f 6 and 10 s 1 now the eatra 1/2 stone that i have is all round baby weight that i never bothered to lose after having my daughter. ( not that thats an excuse)

Maybe the work you're doing at the gym is more for toning rather than burning calories, I would think you should be using the machines that build up your heart rate, maybe speak to one of the trainers there to confirm.

I've been going 2/3 times a week for around 6 months, I haven't changed my diet though and i have lost a few pounds but quite a few people have said I look like i've lost more, I think it's because my shapes' changing (slimmer thighs!!) Try not to be too hung up on the scales and go by how you look/feel in your clothes...although it'll take more than a couple of weeks.

good luck and stick with it :)

I think i'll use that as my excuse from now on

post your diet, age weight and height please

but i joined the gym 6weeks

[SIZE="4"]oh 6 weeks? you not going to see much change in 6 weeks, working to lose weight doesn't happened in a small amount of time, otherwise everybody would be thin. it takes many months maybe even years to get into good shape depending how bad you are, stop feeling sorry for your self.

Excercise is not everything in losing weight. Food is just as important, try eating different meal, heathier ones and also try excercise at home aswell as at the gym

(I've been watching too many biggest losers:giggle:)
#12
A good way to to see what is happening to you, is to measure yourself, as well as weighing. Only weigh once a week, to avoid daily discrepancies due to water retention, etc. If you just want to tone, rather than build, then usually you would lower your weights, but increase your reps. Hth.

Your not overweight,it might be that you meant to be this weight hence you not losing anymore,as some others have said muscle weighs more than fat. Maybe to really lose anything else you need to eat healthier or something.

if you not losing weight either eat less or train harder. Since you said you dont want to eat less, train harder.

I would advise eating 6 small meals a day instead of 3. Speed up the metabolism and you wont be as hungry.

to gain weight the forumula is:
Eating 2000caliores - burning 1500caliores = weight gain of 500caliores

to lose weight:

Eating 2000caliores - burning 2500 calories = weight loss of 500caliores

it doesn't matter if you dont eat in between your meals, its all about calories

You are 10st 1? what you need to lose weight for? that may be why you can't see much different...

thanks i will have a look through

im on the only diet that ever worked for me right now. It's quite slow but it works and is very easy. men are menat to have 2500 calories a day, women 2000. For the diet, just reduce that number by 500 (so it becomes 1500 for women, 2000 for men), make sure you dont eat more calories than that a day and do excersize if and whenever you can.

Even without excersize it works. Like i said, it's a slow one but it works. my usualy is about 1-2lbs lost per week.

Not really as you lose alot of calories doing nothing and sleeping, as your body is burning them off all the time. So any exercise will make sure you lose weight, just make sure you dont eat over the rda. simple : :whistling:

Listen its not hard to work out the reason anyone gains weight is because they are eating over the rda. Why do you think the rda is set at 2000 for woman and 2500 for men ? Because without exercise you burn most of it off doing normal life things, then when doing excerise you are burning alot more.

see here for some info or even search on google your self.

RDA is a baseline, some people have a faster metabolism, these are the people who eat alot and still cant gain a lb, you know the type. then you get other people who have a slow metabolism/thyroid problems , who eat the RDA and put weight on

Everyone body is different, just by following the RDA wont make you gain or lose weight if you exercise or dont. You have to listen to your body find what works and what dont. If it was as easy as you said everything would be ripped like me, but it aint that simple.

You should stop reading the back of Kelloggs boxing and do some real research and work like me.

Just gotta stick at it. It will shed eventually. Doesn't happen overnight.
As people have advised, burn off more calories than you consume. Also drink plenty of fluids throughout the day,

True, i know Arnold Schwarznegger BMI would class him as obease but it is probably more accurate for a 28 y.o old woman... Better way of testing this for people like you would be waist size divided by hip size....
#37
OP,if you want to post what you eat in an average day in this thread we will take a look and advise you as well.

BTW,dont get too hung up on your weight,by training you will increase muscle and burn fat(muscle weights heavier than fat)....muscle will also increase your metabolism and aid the fat burning process.

A better indicator of progress will be noticing your clothes becoming looser, and feeling a lot better/having more energy from day to day which is what I assume you want to achieve.

In my experience its 70% what you eat and about 30% exercise

yeah its a good baseline, but i wouldn't go by it too much, but its prob better for women then men, as they dont want to be ripped and jacked like me.
