Lost my iPhone yesturday - no insurance! 6 months into contract... Options!?!?
Hey guys
I lost my iphone 3g while out shopping yestruday- realised it was missing right away - retraced my steps and its definately 'lost'. I rang it twice - it rang but no answer. The third ring and it was 'Welcome to O2'.....
So with no insurance, I rang up o2 right away to get my phone blocked and ask for a new sim.
Anyone advise me what my options are? Probably nothing I can do - the thing is, while it was my fault I dropped it - it is clear to me now that someone had found it and has decided to keep it, which I feel is now theft! So gutted!
I rang o2 who said if I get another phone, I still have to keep paying my iphone contract until 9months before I can get it lowered to a cheaper tariff, and even then you can only go down to the next cheapest tariff which will probably be £30 a month.
Just sharing my pain......

Buying out a contact! omg imagine how much that would set me back :( 35 a month times 11 months
rang the police - no phones handed in but give me a reference number for insurance purposes - lol

does your household insurance cover items when you are out? as some do i think :?
no chance of recovering it any other way - getting desperate here!
even with making the premium higher next year i would have thought it would still be a lot cheaper than buying another iphone surely :?
I feel for you! I'd hate to lose mine =[ When you rang o2 did they give you any other options?
If you do get a new phone thats quite expensive you can get insurance to cover it for about £5 a month.
I also have phone insurance with my bank so it might be worth checking to see if they do it.........
Has anyone claimed this way? Does it cost much?
Bank does not do phone insurance unfortunately
Thanks for all the respones!

Depends what your excess is, see if you have personal posessions cover.
Look into insurance definately next time.
When I got my 3GS I went straight to Lloyds TSB and insured mine. £7 a month gets me insurance up to £2000. AA breakdown cover, european travel insurance and airmiles.
hey if you don't mind can you tell me how and what phone is yours... my phone got stolen yesterday ... its just two months since my contact started..... its an iphone 5 ... i am soo sad
