Lost my wallet- Found my wallet!!

Further to my post last weekend r.e. my lost quiksilver wallet & all the kind, sympathetic ( well mostly!) comments-

I lost my wallet in my local town centre last weekend. I was a tad gutted 'cos it contained all the usual stuff- cards etc & it was a particularly nice wallet-cost a few quid itself & it was a pressie! Luckily, there was no cash in it & my driving licence was at home.

Well, the unbelievable happened.....

My local bank branch called me at work this week. My wallet had been posted into their letterbox on Wednesday night, after closing. I collected it yesterday & everything- and I mean everything was still in it. Nothing had been taken out & the wallet was in A1 condition!! All my cards, bits of paper, even a £10 top-up voucher for my daughters new mobile!!!

It was anonomously posted so I can't even thank the honest samaritan who found it!

Well, my faith in humanity has been somewhat restored & I have learnt to be a lot more careful!!

Just thought I would share that with you guys, just to show there are a few honest folk out there!!

Might go for a pint to celebrate later- but I'll leave the wallet at home!!

Cheers!!

A few years ago, my son had £1200 cash to go and buy a computer and off he went. About 40 mins later a teenage boy knocked our door asking if the wallet belonged to us as it was outside our door. He wouldn't even accept a reward but we found out who he was and dropped something off at his house. Tol his parents they had a good one there.

Got mine returned hand delivered 18 miles from where I lost it (probably more as the train went all the way to London) minus £125 rent ;-)

My brother lost he keys once, and we had a phone call asking us to pick them up from the town hall where they had been handed in. When we asked him how they knew the number he said he had his name, phone number and address with them incase he lost them...

Hadnt thought about the fact that he could (and did) lose his keys and let the person who found them know the address so they could help themselves to anything in the house!

We were lucky someone honest found them!

I found a wage packet once, posted it through the door of the address on the front.
Also found a wallet on bench in town centre and handed it to the police.
I do think that most people do the decent thing, I know i do and would again.
A little thank you goes along way

One of my sons found a mobile phone in town the other day. He called the owners Mum and arranged for it to be collected from our house. They were thrilled but he said it was only something that he hoped others would do in the same situation. This morning a £20 gift voucher arrived. Just shows honesty does pay.

I lost my removable tooth brace when I was about 9. Took it out of my mouth to eat my school lunch and put it in my pocket. After lunch I went onto the field to play a game of football forgetting to put my brace back in, after the game had finished I went to put my hand in my pocket to put my brace back in and it was missing.
Anyway, cut a long story short and a good spanking from my father about 2 weeks later I found the brace as we were playing another game of football and giving it a light brush off promptly put it back into my mouth.
Dirty boy...

Found a wage packet also, he earned more than me (didn't make it obvious I had looked) so after ringing his company and getting an address off him to send it to, I sent it without a stamp :whistling:
