Lost some of my XBL gamerscore!!!

I recently got wired internet back at home so I was able to connect to XBL. Offline I played a few games I had rented and overall got quite a lot of gamerscore points from them, around 2000,3000. One night I was at my friends so i recovered my gamertag to his xbox. Then a week later or so after getting internet I connected to XBL and got a message saying I had to recover my gamertag again (eventhough it was already in the HDD) because it had been recovered on another console. Something along those lines anyway. So I recovered it and lost the achievements I had gotten while I played offfline! AGH!

So i was wondering, since I still have the save files of those games, if I rented them again and loaded the savefile would I automatically get those achievements back? I've seen this happen with Banjo Kazooie on youtube. Games I had were like Borderlands which have statistics recorded, so maybe if I load it up I would instantly get all the achievements? There really should have been a warning about this BEFORE recovering the gamertag.

You're right. They are just numbers. I just like to look back at the list sometimes, of the games I've played etc, and even compare achievements with friends. I'm not neccessarily looking to compete with numbers, cos that's pointless since you can BUY gamerscore point cards. It'd just be interesting to have a look at my account in the future.

As for the warning, I'm sure it wasn't there otherwise I would have hesitated.
