They can be really expensive as it needs to be specifically made for your car. Think you'll need to go through VW

A Locksmith would be able to make one for you with a special kit they have.....Look out for a film called Lockpicking for the New Millennium, In the film it show you how they make a new key from " Impressioning" from a Key Blank. If you knew the number off the key and took some I.D the dealership would prob have made you one....There might be some info if the key number in your service book etc if you have one. Hopefully your key did'nt have a imobiliser transponder chip in it...if it did then big problems as you will have to get the imobiliser programed to the new key.

Have you lost it around the house or outside? If you think it's somewhere indoors and the car isn't used often - I'd just keep looking.

Have you left it in the ignition or gone and put it down in the boot then shut the boot locked? been there...done that....teashirt! lols.

Chassis number to VW dealer with details (proof of ownership etc) they can get the number.

Of course this is reliant on the fact the vehicle hasn't had a lock change.

You dont say how old your car is. I was able to take my key to a locksmith and he cut one straight away. If the Key has a chip in it you may have to go to a dealer with your V5 etc to get one.

inside the house...and found it now...just the way with things...Hardly drive the car and key is always in a set place(well usually)..but I found it in a pocket of some old Paul smith jeans I found in my wardrobe...I only decided to try it first thing in the morning on Saturday and thought i would go out in them....but changed my mind before walking out of the door.. ruined the weekend that jeans.>

Thanks to all the guys who have gave positive help..Rep if that means anything ..is on its way to you.

I will be looking at getting a spare one cut.
