Anyone noticed how poor the prize breakdown is for last nights lottery? It was a rollover, is everyone on holiday or something?
All the prize levels seem shockingly low!

Perhaps people are betting on the World Cup instead.

been getting poor since they increased the cost from £1 to £2 per line
they are paying the price for their own greed

Premium bonds are even worse now with payouts.

We put one line on each wed and sat. We get £18 per month took from our bank. I feel almost trapped by it as we have had the same 6 numbers now for almost 16 years. Would like to break the cycle but cant!

5 of the 6 numbers were "birthday" numbers (1-31).Its always low when this happens .

OMG all of our numbers are between 1/31!

I have a mate who works in advertising and he was working on a £1 a line game for them. This was a good year ago though so I don't know if it's going ahead but they were calling it 'lotto one' it's a pound a line with a one million pound jackpot. Sunday draw and probably online only.

Last Wednesdays jackpot was £1.79 million and it rolled over to last night, with jackpot of £3.11 million?
How do Camelot arrive at such a paltry amount? They must be cooking the books!
Who are they accountable to and who checks the prize payouts?

the lottery has been on a downward spiral for years hence them upping the price... and giving away less....

a great alternative is the postcode lottery.... or you can look further afield...

sadly though it is a mugs game, and even worse are the scratchcards.

the fact that the main prizes of scratchcards are won within a month of release but the cards remain on sale sometimes upwards of a year is testament to the capitalist state we live...

they dont care about you, where you come from... your never gonna win the lottery but your gonna keep giving them your money...

mugs?

i think so.

You have the same odds of winning by picking six random numbers each week as you do picking the same six numbers week after week.

The problem is that you think changing the pattern will mean the established selection will somehow be picked very soon thereafter.

The numbers selected during the draw each week are still random regardless of your personal selection.

I know you are right. I really need to cut my losses and give it up, or try the Postcode Lottery. I need some hope of getting out of the hand to mouth cycle.

8 winners on the jackpot of £3,119,984 giving each winner £389,998 i think you would be gutted if all your number came out and it still didnt make you a millionaire. i believe thats the advertising of the lotterys fault as it leads you to believe if all your number come out your going to be a millionaire. some might say £389.998 is enough for a win stop been greedy and of course a win is a win you would be right but i cant help thinking that the jackpot should be a guaranteed at least 1 million each. or they could stop showing adverts with people driving limos with swimming pools built in.

Yes i know that already im not disputing that. But im just saying people don't play the lottery for a £300.000 odd win they play in the hope it will make them a millionaire and why because that's what is advertised to us . Anything in between is just a bonus. You wont/dont get the papers or the lottery advertising someone who won £300.000 across the tv or papers but they always advertise big massive millionaire wins. in truth its a suckers game a tax like what was said above And in truth im fooled by it because i play it in the hope i might win which is advertised to me on a daily basis and the exact same reason everyone else plays it.

I love the lottery. :D

I know someone who considered quitting after the increase but then won 20k on the raffle section.

If you're not winning then you are doing it wrong oO
With them doubling the stake to £2, decided to give it up completely. As the draw started 20 yrs ago It was due a price hike tbf. The health lottery is only a quid with a profit percentage going to good causes but top prize money is nowhere near a million..

could it simply be because people have swapped over to the euro lottery, same price for a ticket but bigger jackpot?

I did the Lottery for about 3 weeks straight a while ago, the first time I did the Euromillions, I spent £10 and won £7 back, the second time I spent £6 and won £8 back, then for the weeks that followed, I won nothing.

You do get the feeling that this week you'll win (heck, it's why people do it every week), but I'd rather spend the money trying to win at Poker.

but you have much higher odds of knowing that you would have won 'if only you'd played'

To be honest, I think the Irish lotto is better, I hear lots more people winning on that. Its the fact you have to go into a betting office/bookies to put it on that puts me off. Id feel awkward going in.

Its not that bad once inside, just cover up your cleavage and don't make eye contact with anyone.

So who are regulating Camelot? This can't be right.

step 1 don't gamble.
step 2 save that money every week every month and every year then see if you won or not.
I gave up too
