Driving through Cheltenham last night, drove towards traffic lights and they turned amber just before I reached them but too late to stop.
Next minute, flashing lights behind me.
You're nicked my son.

When watching the playback I found it very inconclusive, they said that their is a 10 second delay between the two sets of lights(They were waiting at another set) but there is no way a 10 second delay. Not going to appeal as I cant be a****.

Offered to pay them cash too which seemed to wind them up.

yes, they were in an unmarked police car, I had to sit in the back and watch a built in creen on the dash

If your car hadn't crossed the line on red, then no offence has been committed. If it was amber, you are quite entitled to. Did you ask them if they knew that?:w00t:

It all seems a little amateurish, I am sure there must be a way of appealing or challanging the evidence. I would be pig sick -£60!

its for your own and other peoples saftey.
Think. . .

If it's too late too stop you must have been going too fast!

If you are going below the speed limit and the light changes to amber just before you get there, there could be no way you could stop. Or are you saying you should crawl through every traffic light at 5mph?

The official line is...if theyve been on green for a while ie all the time you could see them then you should slow down and be prepared to stop as you approach them, so ive been told.

which lights skusey ? the ones on the road into cheltenham ?? im always heading into cheltenham so need to be aware of this ........

i got my practical test in cheltenham, start of january

Unfortunately, there is very little you can do when you are stopped at the roadside.

The only appeal is in court, and you are highly unlikely to be believed over two police officers

Fortunately you're only 16 and don't have to worry about points on a drving license and fines.

See - it has it's advantages.

If you'd like some advice on how to proceed (assuming you haven't accepted the fixed penalty) I'd advise going to the Fightback forums over here:

http://forums.pepipoo.com

There doesn't tend to be much room to move with this type of offence though, the official line is that if you're approaching a green light you should slow down and be prepared to stop in case it does change to ensure you are prepared for it.

Highway code says

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Highwaycode/DG_070202?IdcService=GET_FILE&dID=95047&Rendition=Web

AMBER means ‘Stop’ at the stop line. You may go on only if the AMBER appears after you have crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to pull up might cause an accident
